8/6/24-Molly came to us Monday after spending time over the weekend with a fantastic foster. Her transition went smoothly. She had no problem mingling with our 2 dogs. She had no issue/no chase with the cats. She’s just really chill and very inquisitive. She also has a great personality. She enjoys looking at herself in the mirror. She likes to sleep in her dog bed. She both snores like a sailor and purrs like a cat. She liked jogging after my daughter in the yard. She likes to be with people and will follow you around. She can do stairs going up pretty well. Going down steps when she chooses. Can’t rush a girl.
She was spayed today and Molly did great. She seems a little dazed but otherwise up and walking around and doesn’t appear to be in any discomfort. The vet who did the surgery checked her lymph nodes and said they feel fine. He said they can feel a little enlarged if there’s draining & that may have been what initial vet felt, but he said everything felt fine. We are working on potty training and she’s doing really well with no overnight accidents. She’s will be ready to go home this weekend!
8/5/24: Molly spent a few days with me until her real foster mom could take over care. What I learned about this lady is that she is very chill and pretty quiet, other than snorting! Her DNA mix leans towards bully as she’s a solid girl – I’d almost call her a “gentle giant” if she stood taller than 1foot LOL! She’s very curious – loves to walk around, checking everything out in the house and yard. She was totally unphased during meet & greet with my dogs and even tried to play “chase” with my tall boxer boy (tho it’s more like a trot). This is great for Molly as regular exercise will be essential to prevent weight gain. Molly never had an accident in the house and was fine sleeping in her dog bed, uncrated. She has a little hot spot on her foot so is taking an antibiotic for that (wrapped in a hot dog). The intake vet felt she had some eye irritation and sent soothing drops to use as needed too. Tomorrow she will be spayed at our local vet and ready to go home soon after so stay tuned for updates!
08/02/24-Molly is a beautiful 3 year old female Beabull(English Bulldog/beagle). She came in from a commercial breeder as they were just done breeding her. She arrived safely into rescue today thanks to her transport & temporary foster volunteers. She has eye drops for conjunctivitis & antibiotics for a hot spot on her foot & possible infection as her neck had an enlarged lymph node. Molly has her spay next Tuesday 8/6 & will be ready to go home after that.
