10/23/24-It is almost Halloween so we hope Annie will go home soon to be able to choose her costume with her new family! One update we forgot on her page is the extensive vet checkups we did confirmed she does have a low grade 2 out of 6 heart murmur.  She had no issues with her long surgeries though, so nothing needed done at this time. Just should monitor as she gets older.

10/11/24-Sweet Miss Annie May is still looking for someone to love her. She will be your companion.  Annie May loves spending time outside.  She is still working being house training though.  It is hard to believe that only a few weeks ago she had surgery for her hernia and spay the way she runs around the yard as well as the way she runs up and down the stairs. She is even more beautiful in person & her pictures don’t do her justice. We can’t believe this awesome girl is still here!

9/17/24-Annie was spayed & had her hernia repaired too last Thursday & is healing now.   The good news is that she did not have any foreign objects or stones in her stomach so they must have passed or could have been kibble that was not digested after the time. Annie will go into the crate but she prefers to roam around the house.  She is very excited to go outside and sit to watch for the squirrels to run across the top of the fences.  She is not bothered by cats.  She is okay around children under and over 4.  She is learning to walk with her leash. Annie is still working on going outside to do her business.  Annie does not like the donut around her neck as you can tell by her photo. LOL She is now ready to go to her new home!

8/21/24-Annie May is making herself right at home.  She gets along with my other dogs and does not bother my cats. She still shys away from new people.  She was okay with my 4 yr old grand daughter giving her some treats. Annie still walks away from me then follows me wherever I go so she is trying to learn to like attention from people.

8/16/24-Annie is settling in nicely.  She gets along great with my 3 dogs and my 2 cats.  Annie follows me around.  She will go up and down the stairs without a problem.   She has started to steal my shoes and has been ripping up her blanket, she is learning the word no. LOL  She eats and drinks without any issues.  Annie enjoys running around the backyard & is almost as fast as my other dogs.  Is is learning to do her business outside as long as she goes outside on a regular basis.  Annie has joined in when Miss Poppy Fields barks at my neighbors dog Milo.  The 3 of them carry on quite the conversation.    Annie makes some cute sounds.  She is still very scared of humans and will need more time to gain trust and confidence.

8/12/24-Annie had a bad odor & discharge & her belly was really old looking so she ended up at the vet early to be checked out. After many tests & xrays they found she has stones somewhere inside her. The vet couldn’t tell if are in her stomach(like she ate rocks) or gallbladder (gallbladder stones). She has an ultrasound Thursday 8/22 to determine what surgery will be needed to help her. Her spay will have to be done separately anyway so that is still scheduled for Thursday 9/5. More updates after her ultrasound.

08/09/24-Annie May is a very beautiful 5 year old female Cocker Spaniel. She came in from a commercial breeder as they just didn’t need her anymore. She arrived safely into rescue tonight thanks to her transport volunteers. She has a possible low grade heart murmur we will get 2nd opinion on at our vet. She also has bilateral luxating patellas(like a “trick knee”) on both rear legs but nothing needed to do about them. More updates soon.
