10/7/24-Abra is a very sweet dog. Loves everyone. We have two cat’s, she is fine with one but got into it a couple of times with the other. Nothing big just the cat swatting her from the cat perch and her going back for more.  So may need more work to get along with cats  She is doing well with my two dogs but sometimes gets a little rough for the 5 pounder but Abra takes correction well. She loves to walk on a leash and be out in the yard. She is good with kids 4 and up she has no sense of personal space so younger kids would not be good. Unfortunately as often happens after cherry eye surgery it has popped back out on one side. It is not bothering her & at this point she will not have another surgery. She may need something done by her new owner in the future if it causes issues later. Abra loves to snuggle too!

10/6/24-Abra is still waiting for her forever home. Since foster Smokey left, she is not liking being left alone when I leave the house. She needs a playmate but needs slower introductions as she is like a bull in a china shop when meeting new dogs, which can be intimidating to them. She does seem to be better with smaller/medium dogs than big dogs. She also needs a human companion that’s gonna let her be a lap dog and cuddle as that is her favorite thing to do.

9/28/24-This girl continues to thrive. I had her at the bowling alley yesterday and she greeted everyone she could reach. Abra weighs 38 pounds but thinks she weighs 10 pounds and will jump onto your lap to deliver big sloppy kisses. LOL She is being fostered with other dogs but like a typical English bulldog, she requires a slow introduction to new dogs.

9/23/24-Miss Abra is waiting patiently for her turn at the vet for her check up from her many surgeries. She had her weigh in and she is down to 38 pounds from 39.4 pounds. She’s still a very happy and active girl. She has done great with the foster boy mini poodle I have at my house.  Vet said her eyes are healing well so no more cone needed to be worn and no more eye drops. Her eyes will still be red for a little longer until the stitches dissolve in them, plus she has naturally droopy bulldog eyelids. A clean bill of health & she is all clear for adoption!

9/16/24-Abra is feeling a lot better and this morning this is where she chose to lay down. In the chair with me but with half her body behind me so I can’t even sit back. LOL She’s such a ham. This girl is the sweetest.

9/13/24-Abra had her many surgeries yesterday.  She was spayed, had her cherry eye’s fixed, soft palate surgery to help with breathing along with nares surgery on her nose to open her nasal passages.  All went well but now is time for relaxing and healing.  She needs to go back to our vet in 10 days for a follow up & then she will be ready to ho to her new home! She loves foster mini poodle Smokey and they are snuggle buddies.

9/9/24-Abra is a happy girl with lots of energy. A bit of a bull in the china shop. She is currently being fostered with foster boy Smokey and they are doing well together. Today we had her pre-surgery check up. She will also have nares surgery to open her nose to help her breathe better (common issue with bulldogs due to very short nose). This will be done when her cherry eye & spay is done.  The vet also put her on eye drops. She will have her surgeries this Thursday 9/12 & will be ready to go home soon after.

9/8/24-Abra is a 4 yr old English bulldog that was surrendered to us today because her family circumstanced changed.  The only reason they couldn’t keep her as they said she absolutely loves to be around her people & they felt she needs more attention than they can give her at this moment. She was raised with two other extra large dogs and a little girl. They felt she would do well in a home with a retired or stay at home person that she can just cuddle with as she is very very much a people person. They also said she walks on a leash very nice but because of being an English bulldog, she uses a harness.  She has really bad cherry eye that needed fixed & needs to be spayed, her pre surgery checkup is tomorrow for both.
