9/17/24-Good morning!! Yahtzee’s neuter surgery went well yesterday. He is having a hard time recovering though. He’s been crying since 1am and he already destroyed his cone of shame. Poor boy, we know he will feel better soon. He is now ready to go to his new home!
9/15/24-Yahtzee has had a great weekend! He loves the company of other dogs & one on one time with Jake & I. He’s still very vocal in the crate, but he has learned to settle down within 10 minutes instead of almost an hour! LOL He prefers a blanket over his crate with some type of interactive bowl/puzzle (Toppl, Slow feeder, Kong, etc) for mealtimes versus a regular metal bowl. He hasn’t had a potty accident in the crate since the first night he was home with us. However, potty training inside the house is very hit or miss. It’s a work in progress, but he’s made great strides in other areas!
9/10/24-Yahtzee isn’t so sad today. He is super dog friendly & yesterday he actually tried playing in his own way. Today he is enjoying all of the new dogs coming in for Sleepaway Camp doggie daycare here this week! He loves playing with other dogs. Crate training is happening…does he like it? Not yet. Between being covered with a large blanket, a box fan and a Peanut Butter filled Toppl, I’m sure he’ll start to enjoy it a little more. Oh, did I mention he LOVES to talk?! He is a very vocal boy so if you like a “talker” he is your guy! He is very opinionated and will pitch a fit to whoever has ears. LOL This cool dude is being neutered next Monday 9/16 & will be ready to go home!
9/6/24-Newest SCBR Recruit, Yahtzee, would like to let everyone know that he is in fact the lead Sad Clown of the Poodle-y Doodle-y Pity Party after his arrival & bath! All jokes aside, he did great with his bath! He’s still trying to get used to us & being away from his brothers, but I know he’ll warm up in a few days. He was very cooperative for the human hair dryer!
09/06/24-Yahtzee is a gorgeous big 7 month old newfypoo (standard poodle/newfoundland). He came in from a commercial breeder along with his brothers Pickles & Fritz as they just got too old to sell. They arrived into rescue tonight thanks to their transport volunteers. We estimate they will be about 100 lbs full grown. Looks like they definitely got a good blend of the Newfoundland size & poodle genes for their coat. They will all be big gentle giants for sure!
