10/6/24-Odin came into foster care last Monday. Over the last week we’ve gotten to know this sweet ham bone! This boy is sweet, goofy, but also nervous. Upon meeting new people he takes a few minutes to warm up and does hide behind my legs. There is also some hand shyness initially, but will take bribes in the form of tasty treats. Rest assured, he’ll be jumping with excitement moments later. Only a few hours after meeting me, he was glued to my side. He will need to be continuously socialized with people to help with the fear of meeting new people. Odin has done very well with the dogs he’s been introduced to. He’s a submissive boy that wants to play and run. With that said, he’d do very well in a home with another dog, as well as fenced area to run. For now, I do not recommend a home with cats. We’re acclimating him to wearing a harness, this is new to him. He’s eager to learn! He does walk well on a leash with a martingale collar. Odin knows sit and down. There are signs of separation anxiety when he is left home alone. He loves to be with his people! At night, he sleeps well in the crate in my bedroom. During the day, he does whine and bark after being put in the crate. A “lion cage” type heavy duty crate is a must due to the anxiety. Odin does well with older children 10 years +. Younger children scare him initially, but he does warm up to them and allow pets and hugs after some reassurance from me. I anticipate this goofball blossoming once he gains a little more confidence and he’s in the right home. He’ll no longer be nervous and he’ll feel free to be his nutty self! He spent the weekend playing with an alumni rescue friend Tyson. These two cutie pies played their hearts out! Tired dogs are happy dogs.
10/3/24-Odin is happier each day he tastes his new found freedoms. He’s starting to show his goofy personality and warm up to his surroundings. This boy loves to run outside, play with other dogs, go for walks, or cuddle up and watch a movie. He loves my daughter age 13 and her friends aging from 12 – 14. Odin will be tested with younger children this weekend, 4 1/2 up. I forsee no concerns, this one’s a lover for sure! He will be available for adoption next week after his neuter. He will go quick!
10/01/24-Welcome Odin, our newest addition to SCBR foster Family. Odin is sweet, goofy, and loves to be outside running. He is already sleeping in my lap like a baby. His pictures do not do him justice!! Handsome boy, smooth soft coat, and a sweet demeanor. Odin says it’s a good day for belly rubs! Such a nice boy.
09/30/24-Odin is a 10 month handsome sealed brindle & white boxer boy & Freya is a 4yr old dark brindle boxer girl that came in from a local animal control officer. Their owner had some personal issues & could no longer take care of them. Odin is being neutered on Wednesday 10/9 & then he will be ready to go home.
