11/9/24-Carolina is showing her real personality now that’s she been here a week!!  She is ready for her new home now.

11/2/24-Just a quick note to update everyone that Carolina has been spayed and is recovering fabulously.  She’s out walking in the backyard and we plan to increase her activity about a week after surgery. So far as we can tell she’s a sweet calm girl that seems to love everyone.  She gets the butt wiggles for my sons as well (ages 10 and 16).   Plus Carolina‘s new weight is 73lbs so she is getting healthier!

10/31/24-Carolina was at the vet being spayed today & already has lost about 4 lbs!  Her foster mom says she is the sweetest, chillest girl. She is now headed to her new foster home & will be ready to go home in a couple of days!

10/30/24-Carolina was fine with the cats.  Our younger cat set some boundaries and she was totally fine with them after that. No chasing, gave them space. She was more curious.  She just dog doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She really is the perfect dog. There would have been a lot of tears shed had I kept her any longer! Lol

10/28/24-Carolina arrived safely around noon yesterday to her temporary foster home until she gets spayed.  She’s a chunky little monkey but super cute. She seems to really like the kids.  My teenage daughter had her running around in the backyard doing jumps! LOL

She did just fine in the house with the dogs & wanted to get in on the playtime in the backyard. I’m not sure if they just play rough.. but I did end of separating her and my dog Shadow for a little bit.  She went for a walk and was a good sport about doing some agility obstacles in the backyard. She has met both cats & seems more curious about what they are. She has not had any accidents in the house and slept through the night on a dog bed next to my bed. We reintroduced her to the dogs and this time all went perfectly.  Decompression for a dog is real. She also seems to really enjoy relaxing by the fire. She follows my son and husband around and her little nub of a tail doesn’t stop when they pet and talk to her.  She likes the warmth of the wood stove.  She is sweet as can be and so beautifully marked.  We are really enjoying her company.

10/26/24-Carolina’s vet checkup went well except she is Lyme positive so she is on antibiotics to clear that up.  She is a good and loving girl but she doesn’t understand how big she is (82 pounds!) and she is just too rough with my toddler. She doesn’t mean any malice but she has jumped on him and scratched him as well as repeatedly knocks him over. We could keep her crated more but I just don’t think that’s fair to her either. She’s great with my 2 male dogs and with people. Just too big and doesn’t realize her size for my 2 year old. For this reason we are moving Carolina to a different foster home in CT tomorrow.  She is being spayed this Thursday 10/31 & then she will be ready for her new home!

10/7/24-Carolina is a beautiful and sweet girl! She arrived at her foster home Saturday and loved her bath and first walk. She is working on getting adjusted and likes to be in her crate but observing the action.

10/5/24-Carolina is a sweet 4yr boxer owner surrender that came in to rescue today along with 2 other boxers Dallas & Denver as she just couldn’t take care of them any longer. They all are well fed & could definitely lose some weight. Her owner said Carolina is a snuggler & is very

10/16/24-Carolina is a good and loving girl but she doesn’t understand how big she is (very overweight at 82 pounds!) and she is just too rough with my toddler. She doesn’t mean any malice but she has jumped on him and accidentally scratched him as well as repeatedly knocks him over. We could keep her crated more but I just don’t think that’s fair to her either. She’s great with my 2 boy dogs and with people. Just too big and doesn’t realize her size for my 2 year old child. Older kids would be fine though as not a mean bone in her body. Carolina is in heat right now so may be a little delay to get her spayed.  sweet.
