2/14/22-Remy is doing awesome! Yesterday I left him out of his crate in a gated area for several hours while I was out. He did not make any messes! He is starting to enjoy the comfort of his bed and moves it where he wants it and proceeds to fluff it until it is just right. He absolutely is a velcro dog but no separation anxiety. He just wants to be with you & get some loving! He is a very good boy & doesn’t mind his crate when he does need it now. He is a very good boy & we have no idea why he’s still here!

2/10/22-Remy is doing better in the crate, a treat or his food gets him into it. Sleeps overnight but barks in the morning to let you know it is time to go out. He will go back in and settle afterward if you need more morning shut eye. His favorite time of day is sitting on the couch with me to cuddle before bed. Potty training is progressing with an occasional accident. He is a very sweet, happy boy.

2/2/22-Remy had his eye stitches out and now is ready to go home.  He is good with my dog, but they don’t play as she is older. He will be happy with or without another dog in his new home. Remy was briefly with my granddaughter who is 8 and he was also good with her. He does jump up occasionally so I would day older kids 8+ would probably be best. Remy is ready to become part of your family now!

2/1/22-If you are looking for a talker who loves to cuddle, Remy is your man! He is very vocal and wants attention all the time. With the help of a stool he is able to climb up on the loveseat. Once on the loveseat he will sit with you for a couple of hours resting his chin on your lap.  His ears are better, eyes are clearer and stitches come out of his eyes tomorrow. He is doing better with potty training too and knows his name. Generally he will come when called. Right now he’s not a fan of the crate & barks while in it. I think the barking is because he wants attention. I am now feeding him in the crate and giving him a treat to go into it so he knows it’s a good space where yummy things are. Get those apps in now as this handsome boy is looking for his new home soon!

1/27/22-Remy is settling in well. He is a sweetheart too & really likes to cuddle on the couch. He is sleeping through the night with the aid of a pair of old pants I wore. Potty training remains a work in progress. He goes to vet for eye stitch removal on 2/2. Once we get to know Remy a little better, he will be able to be matched to his adopting home & start the rest of his new life!

1/25/22-Remy arrived here at his foster home Saturday after a long trip meeting new people along the way. When he got here, he walked up the stairs like he knew where he was going. Remy is good natured and sweet. He wants to be near you all the time. He has not been destructive and is learning how to relax in a home. Right now he does not care for being alone at night and barks on and off through the night- something I am working on. More updates as we get to know this SWEET boy & he gets better from all his medical issues.

1/22/22-Remy came into rescue today. He was saved from a puppy mill after he was no longer useful for breeding. This boy is SUPER friendly, walks on a leash which many mill dogs don’t know. We had him neutered, tested for heartworm (negative) & updated on shots. He had Entropion eye surgery (will need sutures out in about 2 weeks) & is on an antibiotic eye ointment for this surgery.  Remy also has dry eye so he will need daily drops for that for the rest of his life to keep the eyes lubricated and help with tear production. One of our other foster homes has a Bulldog with dry eye and the meds are $75 every 4-5 months and that is for cyclosporine drops which is the best treatment there is. Remy is also being treated for demodex mange (not contagious- treated with monthly Nexgard) and has a paw abscess being treated with epsom salt soaks & taking antibiotics. Yes, we say poor Remy came into rescue as a hot mess! Luckily he is out of the mill now & getting the medical treatment he desperately needed & deserves. Updates soon from his foster home.
