1/01/25-So many new things this week for my little Miss Mistletoe. I have a fenced yard,  and neighbors and other dogs so there is always activities happening,  and she’s venturing off the deck by herself to go potty and to now running around after my dogs in the yard. She loves to run,  and has started to initiate play with my Boston terrier doing play bows and bounces. Best part was today when I saw her run up and down the fence line barking with the Malinois next door. Her bark was happy and playful.

Mistletoe did get spayed on yesterday and is healing really well,  she’s leaving her spay sight alone which makes me happy.
She’s also very good in her crate and quiet. At the beginning of our week,  I would have to pick her up and put her in,  but she’d still be quiet as could be……after realizing there were a thing called treats in the crate,  she now goes to her crate and walks right in when I open the door. I couldn’t ask for anything better.
Her house training is also going very well and there have only had a few accidents and it was always right by the door we use to go out. So I think she’s definitely on target with that.
Her leash walking skills are also improving,  while she does startle at strange or unusual things she doesn’t try to run away , just stops and watches.  She will be a pro in No time.
We’ve met a few children and she seems to be comfortable with them, but definitely doesn’t like loud or fast movements yet. This will improve with time,  patience and understanding. She’s a very sweet gentle being and has been an absolute joy to foster. Mistletoe is ready to go home!

12/22/24-Presenting sweet, gentle Mistletoe. She arrived into rescue 12/20/24 from a commercial breeder, spent a whole day traveling with other dogs, went to a vet where she was brought up to date on her vaccinations, then completed her day traveling to her overnight foster home, where she ate her first meal in celebration of a new life. She had her first bath with gentle hands, and after sleeping well all night and traveling all day the next day, arrived to me, her foster home.

While being understandably nervous, she really likes being petted and follows me all around the house and outside. Today her house training begins along with short walks on a leash and so far she really likes the special attention. This morning after her breakfast of kibble, ground chicken, cranberry sauce, and a slice of banana, I sat on the floor with her and we had an awesome cuddle time. I got the sweetest gentlest kisses from this beautiful girl. I’m totally in love with Mistletoe. So much sweetness packed into this little girl. She even smiled today, not the full Aussie smile with the front teeth showing,….but the corners of her mouth turned up. Made my day! So please check back soon to see how Mistletoe is doing. She’s getting spayed on 12/31/2024 and will be ready to start her new life with you in the new year.

12/20/24-Mistletoe is a very beautiful & sweet 2 yr old mini aussie (miniature Australian Shepherd). She came in to rescue tonight from a commercial breeder thanks to her transport & overnight volunteers. They just didn’t need her anymore. She is being spayed on Tuesday 12/31 & will be ready to go home doon after that.
