2/8/25-Sassie is a sweet, loving, happy mini Aussie who has a phenomenal wiggle butt whenever she greets me . I’m honestly amazed she is still with me and hasn’t been scooped up by her forever family. She’s crate trained, she sees me grab a handful of cookies and she runs to her crate and does a cute little dance waiting for me to open the door so she can get her treats or to go to bed for the night. Sassie is also a polite house guest and doesn’t beg while I’m eating or snaking, but will usually be laying down close by. Oh and did I mention that her crate has been clean and dry from the day she came to me. She’s also house Trained……however I do let her out every 3 to 4 hours along with my own dogs. She loved meeting my neighbors grand children thru the fence but it was very cold out so it was a short visit, but she got so excited meeting them. They are 3, 5, and 7 Youngest was shrieking and laughing when Sassie licked her fingers.
1/25/25-I have nothing but great things to say about Sassie. Although she can be shy when you first meet her she’s actually very friendly and outgoing and has a spectacular wiggle butt she loves to display. She loves other dogs, she’s cat friendly and loves cuddles and praise and being told she’s beautiful. This week she’s learning what toys are which has been fun to watch. She’s a beautiful & sweet girl!
1/15/25-I continue to be amazed at what an incredible dog she is! She is so very smart and so sweet. She doesn’t miss an opportunity to snuggle and be pet. She continues to get along great with the dogs, cats and kids. However she is not dog dependent.
Like any working breed she begins to pace if she needs to get some energy out. A quick trip outside takes care of that. She likes to sniff around but is still working on playing. She is cautious to quick movements. I am going to go out on a limb and claim she’s potty trained. Who trained who is still to be determined. lol We’ve established a schedule and it works.
She has become quite comfortable and no longer feels the need to explore her crate during the day. She would much rather be laying by your side or at your feet.
The excitement she has for you any time you’re out of her sight for more than 15 minutes will melt your heart. She’s one of a kind.
She will be spayed on Friday 1/17 & then ready to go home!
1/14/25-Sassie is doing pretty well! Dogs are all getting along. Working on figuring out her potty schedule but she is starting to get it. She went outside but very little yesterday but eat and drinks like a champ and is so super sweet and likes to snuggle and wants you to hug her in the morning.
1/13/25-Sassie arrived Saturday afternoon to her temporary foster home. Everyone leading up to her arrival told me how sweet she was but I never could have imagined how sweet she truly is! She did great upon arrival. Walks really well on leash and seemed happy to be outdoors sniffing around. She came indoors to meet my dogs and while understandably timid she was very tolerant and didn’t shy away or try to hide. She also met the cats and was perfectly fine. She has been eating and drinking and displays zero food aggression. She’s great with the kids and their friends. She has been sleeping all night in her crate without any accidents. I leave the crate door open during the day and will catch her going in and out of it. She goes up and down deck stairs but has not attempted the actual staircase inside. She loves to be outside. Will wander away a bit but comes right back to my side (she’s on a 25ft long leash). She went for a mile walk today and loved it. She’s SO happy to be pet and talked to and have her belly rubbed. When she’s really happy she likes to stand up on you to get in close for a kiss and her own little hug. She’s unlike any foster I’ve had when it comes to affection. She really aims to please.
We are working on potty training but like everything else she continues to surprise me. While she likes the dogs she could take or leave them and doesn’t seem to need them in any way so she can go to a home with or without other dogs. She’s a special girl who’s going to make a fantastic addition to any home.
1/12/25-Our sweet mini Aussie is eating, drinking, interacting, snuggling on the couch with me and the dogs. She’s super sweet. Right now she is a bit of a counter surfer but responds to “down”. She went in and out of the crate on her own. I just have it with the door open. When outside she sticks to my side and when she does venture out a bit she tends to look back to see where I am. I am certain the days to come will bring all kinds of changes but so far so good. Sassie had a great first night. She’s made friends with the dogs and doesn’t pay any attention to the cats. She goes in and out of her crate on her own and slept through the night like a champ. She’s eating and drinking and we’re in the process of figuring out her bathroom schedule. Lol
She loves the outside, will wander and come back to my side (on the 25ft long leash I have). She likes to snuggle on the couch and be told how pretty she is. Everyone fell instantly in love with her. Ps Donna thank you again for bathing her. She smells so pretty and has hair like a movie star!
01/10/25-Sassie is a very beautiful & sweet 2 yr old mini aussie (miniature Australian Shepherd). She came in to rescue tonight from a commercial breeder thanks to her transport & overnight volunteers. They just didn’t need her anymore. She is being spayed on Friday 1/17 & will be ready to go home soon after that.
