3/13/25-Hank has been getting more settled every day.  His goofy side is really starting to shine!  He loves to chase his ball and shake his toys.  He has discovered our bunnies in the backyard and will chase them.  Still no house accidents.  No chewing or counter surfing.  He does like to put his paws up and look out the window, but he is easily corrected.  We have noticed that sometimes he will favor his rear right leg  when he has been laying down for a long time, but he quickly shakes it off with a few steps.  We got him a soft mat for his kennel at night so he stays more comfy.

3/9/25-Hank has been doing really well!  He had his stitches out (& sat on the vet’s lap!).
With all the walks and good food he is now 73.8 pounds!  Tennis balls remain a favorite toy.  He will bring a toy to you and ask to play. Still slow to warm up but once he is comfortable you will have a best friend, cuddle buddy and playmate in Hank!
2/24/25-Hank the tank is doing well here.  Loves car rides.  We went for a joyride yesterday for fun.  Plays fetch and brings the ball back to us too.  We had company this past weekend, he is still a little slow to warm up.  Timid around strangers still but by the time the guests left he was sitting on the couch with them getting scratches.  Post surgery vet check up for the big guy on Thursday.  His callouses on his back legs that he came with are starting to look better!  Must be all those naps on the couch! Lol

2/20/25-80 pound lap dog anyone?  This guy is a gentle giant!  Hank is ready for his new home.

2/17/25-Hank has been settling in well over the last week.  We discovered with the latest rain and snow storms in typical boxer fashion he’s not a fan of inclement weather and needs some coaxing.  We took a trip to petsmart to get him some new dry food, (which he really likes) and he did well with other dogs, but was nervous around new people and the busy environment.   He loves going outside for daily walks on his leash and playing in the fenced yard.  Tennis balls and tug of war are a favorite for him.  He loves attention and loves to both cuddle and play.  Hank is sleeping well in his crate.  He will wake up in the morning whining a bit to go out.  Also, no house accidents since his second day!  He is learning bell training to go outside and has been very consistent. Such a smart boy!

2/14/25-My foster boy Hank is a really great dog!  Someone lucky will get this big boy. Hank loves to be hugged. He’s so good & is learning the ropes still but trying hard and being a good boy.

2/13/25-I just picked up Hank from the vet after his neuter & they said he did well. Vet called the cyst type thing on him a granuloma, which was removed. Not a cancerous lump & no biopsy needed.  The stitches on the removal of the lump are not dissolving ones so he will need to have these sutures removed in 2 weeks.  Hank will be ready to go home soon!

2/11/25-Hank is becoming more comfortable here now, and starting to make himself at home a bit more. He’s a smart boy, and knows sit and come already! He enjoys going for walks and loves tennis balls! He is also starting to cuddle a bit on the couch.

2/9/25- Hank arrived to us yesterday afternoon. He spent the evening getting used to the house. He drank a lot of water and went potty outside. He is good wearing his belly band to preemptively stop any marking in the house since he is not neutered yet. He discovered the couch and really enjoys curling up on it. Slept well in his crate in our bedroom. He got a bath this morning and liked getting rubbed with the towel after. He takes treats very gently from our hands. Hank ate breakfast this morning too! He had a mix of dry and wet food. He doesn’t have any interest in plain dry food … I may try a different brand to see if that’s the problem. He doesn’t really like to be alone right now and follows us everywhere . He’s a very sweet boy and really likes head scratches and leaning! He really loves to be praised and responds well to redirection so far.
2/8/25-Hank is at his foster home and he has been an absolute treasure this evening. Very aware of each and every sound. Following us everywhere, does not want to be alone right now. He drank, has not eaten but taking treats very gently from my hand. He is finally resting on the couch.

02/07/25-Hank the Tank (due his big size! Lol) is a handsome & sweet 4 year old boxer that came in today from a commercial breeder as they just didn’t need him anymore. He arrived safely into rescue tonight thanks to his transport & overnight volunteers. He has a big callous cyst on his chest between his front legs we will have removed at his neuter. Hank is being neutered next Thursday 2/13 & then he will be ready for his new home. More updates as we get to know him.
