2/13/25-Mr. Diesel was fixed yesterday. He took it a little rough at first but bounced right back. He’s back to his normal happy puppy self. As you can see I’ve let the baby down by him she really likes him. I’d give him the official house trained signature. He does okay in the crate if you put him in there, but we do not anymore. All cats come around and they all leave each other alone now. The leash will need work, and as it’s winter I haven’t honestly been working on it.
2/10/25-Now that we have had a few days to settle Diesel is doing amazing. He loves playing and running out back in the snow with the other dogs. We have had no accidents since the initial one when he got here. He is eating and drinking. Diesel really likes hand towels especially if they are hung on your stove handle. LOL But he has found a new love for rubber balls. He adores children I’ve even put the baby down around him and he is more gentle than my own pups with her. Just likes to give lots of kisses. He’s still very curious about cats and one of mine has finally allowed him around them. He is also starting to come to the name Diesel as well. He was left out of the crate last night for bedtime and just slept on the floor and the foot of the bed. Now he is a puppy still don’t let his size fool you, he loves to counter surf and we are working on that, and food in the garbage, he will knock it over. But he is picking up on the word no pretty quick, and we are even working on the command sit with him.
2/9/25-Diesel did great overnight. We did crate him at bedtime as he has puppy tendencies with chewing towels and baby toys lol. But he did great. Started crying at 4 am we let him outside and then he went back in the crate. Poor pup has a decent wound on his left ear that breaks open often I’ve been keeping clean. His eyes are very infected but the medication will help with that. All around he is a great dog. Loves humans, the baby included, again I just don’t set her down around him yet due to size. He did finally eat his dinner last night as well. No accidents in the house. He follows my fiance everywhere. Diesel is funny he likes the tvs on as well & he will lay there and watch them. We have started working on the sit command with him as well.
2/8/25-Mr Diesel has arrived & I’m pretty sure we got tricked into fostering a mini horse as he is super long legged! He is a very sweet pup. Great with all three of my dogs. Super interested in my cats & really wants to play with the kitties but they won’t come near him. Good with the kids. I held the baby next to him and he was fine but not pushing that much at the moment. He did take his bath like a champ as well. Seems to really adore my fiancé. He already knows the routine here with going outside and coming in. Has not eaten but it’s only been a few hours.
Little update as the day has gone on. Diesel has settled right in as if he has lived here his whole life. Loud noises or sudden movements still scare him though. He’s very interested in people food lol. He is the height of my counters so we are working on keeping him off. He absolutely adores my 1 year old. Loves to give her kisses. I don’t put her down around him only because his size but he’s a big teddy bear. He has not eaten yet, but that’s to be expected. But he is the sweetest pup & he is doing fabulous already.
02/07/25-Diesel is a handsome & sweet 15 month old reversed brindle boxer boy that came in today from a commercial breeder along with Jovie as they just didn’t need them anymore. He arrived safely into rescue tonight thanks to his transport & overnight foster volunteers. He has an ear infection, conjunctivitis (eye infection) & a cut of his ear he is being treated for. Diesel is being spayed next Wednesday & will be ready for his new home soon after.
