3/17/25-Happy Monday from Gracie! Her favorite activity: couch, snuggle, paw you for more pets, repeat. When you get home she will stand on her hind legs and hug you. We got her out for some exercise before her spay Wednesday and while #1 in her book still might be cuddles, she did great on our 2 mile trail hike!  This beautiful, affectionate girl will be ready to go home in a few days.

3/11/25-Though Gracie has show her preference to being an only dog in her home, she just paws at us all day for pets! Lol She will be a great companion for someone who has a lot of love to give! She is being spayed next Wednesday & then will be ready for her new home.

3/9/25-Gracie is such a special girl. Just as a follow up to where she may do best.. Gracie and my dog got into a spat last night. They are both totally fine, easy to break up and went right back to co residing so I’m not worried at all but started over a bone treat when he was walking by. I think maybe some resource guarding tendencies from her (they have been fine with separate area feeds). We have noticed when our dog is in our space getting attention instead of Gracie, she is more on edge. When we got her out and about yesterday, she was more timid and cowering away from other dogs but fine with people, which was interesting compared to what we usually see. She would certainly do well with doggy meet ups and play dates with time and probably WOULD adjust to living with another, but would thrive being an only dog in her home where she can soak up all the affection.

3/5/25-Gracie continues to shine less than a week after rescue. She has an adorable floof butt she loves to wiggle when she gets excited. She adores human affection, so needs to go to a home who is going to embrace a sassy paw in the lap if you’re not paying attention to her. This girl is SMART and seeing as she doesn’t have a lot of fear based behaviors to overcome she could and should be thrown into positive based training to truly showcase her Aussie breed capabilities. We can say at this point she is house trained, and while she doesn’t have crate anxiety and does just fine in it when her people are out, you will hear it from her if she knows you’re home or sleeping- can’t blame the girl, she just wants to be close! Gracie is great at leash walking and would make a good adventure partner. While she enjoys couch snuggles and is not very high energy, she would love frequent walks and doing as much as possible with her humans. This is not a dog who should spend a ton of time alone. She would likely be good with age appropriate kids and though not able to be cat tested would think she would probably do just fine with dog savvy cats. Gracie gets along with her foster brother Aussie just fine but she is an attention and space hog! LOL At this point we believe she would be fine & thrive as an only dog as the star of the show and may gently herd if she’s not getting her way. Her spay was delayed only because of the vet schedule but should be ready for adoption after 3/19!

3/3/25-Introducing Gracie! She is the rare commercial breeder dog that craves affection. Eating / drinking wonderfully and going potty outside. She is already comfortable on a leash in the yard, we will try a different environment after a week or so. We had a great first night in the crate, last night… wellllll like I said she craves attention and will let you know it whether it’s in the form of howling or paws in your direction if you stop petting lol. She might end up preferring a bed by her humans but we will keep reintroducing positive crate time as well. She’s sweet and a little sassy. She’s made herself quite at home even on morning 1!

02/28/25-Gracie is a sweet 4 year old female blue merle colored miniature Australian Shepherd. She came in from a commercial breeder that no longer needed her. She arrived into rescue today thanks to her transport & temporary foster home volunteers. She will be spayed on Wednesday 3/19 & will be ready to go home soon after that.
