5/16/25-Thanks to her new foster doggie sisters Nala is a new dog in just 10 days. She has learned so much from them and is ready for a new home. Nala is a quiet laid back soul.

5/11/25-Miss Nala is enjoying the outdoors. She did not mind the sound of the lawn mower. Miss Nala is potty pad trained but has learned to go outside as well. She is coming out of her shell and learning how to be a dog from her the girl gang. She would benefit from having another dog but not a must. She is quiet girl, perfect for apartments & condos.

5/9/25-Major progress for Nala this week. She was welcomed into our girl gang  pack on Saturday. She seeking out the other dogs to play with she greets her fosters at the door mimicking the other dog’s welcome. She is crate trained but there is no need she just lays on the couch with the other dogs. We put the crate away. She is potty pad trained with no accidents. The outside still scares her but this weekend she and her foster sisters will be hanging with my two dogs for an outside play date.
5/8/25-Miss Nala is in her new foster home & has come out of her shell! She gives us a little howl when we get up in the morning and comes running with her little butt wagging when we walk in the door. Nala does not bark. She is starting to play with the aussiedoodle girls and snuggle on the couch. She does like lying in her bed and doesn’t mind when the girls lay with her. Nala is a sweet and silly girl. She loves to follow her humans around as well.

5/7/25-Funny story – Nala didn’t like the crying child visiting so she went up the landing to get away..  Her two bodyguards went with her! Lol see picture

5/6/25-Before Nala came to us I was told she was shy. Her first day with us she spent at the bowling alley with people coming into my office to pet her. Once home she didn’t seem to startle when I made house hold noises. I really believe NALA DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO BE A DOG. She loves belly rubs and to be petted. She was great with kids but got scared when the child started screaming (we wanted to run away too! Lol)

She is doing great with other dogs. We are hoping she will start learning from them.

5/5/25-I met Nala on Saturday. She was dropped off to my at my work. A loud bowling alley. She slept peacefully in my office while the parade of people came through to meet her.  I brought her home and put her in a bed in the kitchen while I proceeded to make dinner and do the dishes. She never flinched or tried to hide. She just observed.
MY OPINION:  Nala simply doesn’t know what being a dog entails. At this point i think being with other dogs will help teach her more than any human can. Will she always need another dog? I dont think so.  She loves belly rubs and snuggles so she will require a belly rubbing human. Given time she will be a great dog. She isn’t vocal so she would do well in an apartment/condo setting or a work from home setup where need a quieter dog.

5/4/25-Nala is very sweet but shy. She is potty pad trained, loves snacks and belly rubs. Nala doesn’t even mind when her foster doggie sisters sit on her or are very close to her. Lol

5/1/25-Due to her foster home’s upcoming vacation, Nala is moving to another foster home on Saturday.  There are 2 other mini Aussiedoodles(both alumni adopted from our rescue) there too. More updates on the new Aussiedoodle girl group soon!

4/23/25-Nala is still timid, but making good strides. She is very excited when we get home and comes almost to the front door to greet us. She loves us to come over and pet her, but we are trying to get her to come to us for pets. She really is a very sweet, gentle dog & she says belly rubs are great!

4/1/25-Nala is doing much better & is very smart. She has started running out to us when we come home with her tail wagging. This is a big step for her. She has a great temperament too. Very gentle with kids and would be fine with cats. She is crate trained & pee pad trained in the house if she has an accident. She is still learning to be comfortable on a leash outside. She will need work on it as currently all the noises outside are too much & she freezes. She would be fine as an only dog but also will be good with other dogs. We know with time & patience Nala will learn how to be a great pal!
3/25/25-Nala a good bath yesterday and is super soft like a teddy bear! Really a sweet girl just unsure of herself still. Her unique coloring makes her look like a red panda or raccoon! Adorable.

3/21/25-Nala is very sweet, does well with other dogs and kids petting her in her play pen area, but does not come to anyone yet. Her door is always open, but she rarely ventures out yet. Life is just too scary still for her. She would do great with another friendly dog. She is gentle and would be fine around kids and cats too. My 5lbs rescue dog is basically a cat and she is fine with it. She is still very shy, but has started wagging her tail and getting excited when I come home or the kids, which is so nice to see.

3/13/25-Nala did well with her spay. The vet noted that it was a bit more complicated as it was obvious she had many litters of pups. Nala still hasn’t ventured out of her crate area yet, but loves the kids coming into her area and petting her and giving her treats. She is very sweet and has been great around my 3 kids (5 & up) and seems unconcerned by my 2 small dogs. I think a calm confident dog would be good for her. She also would do fine around respectful kids.

3/10/25-Nala has a super sweet disposition but she is still very timid and hasn’t even gotten up on her own yet. We’ve been carrying her outside to try and get her to go potty. She seems sweet, but definitely scared. She hasn’t ventured out of her play crate at all. She will take treats from us so that’s good. I was just saying to my husband last night that her teeth look like a dog that’s a lot younger than four. Then I saw on the paperwork the vet thinks she is younger too. It’s sad but she will have a good life from here on out!  I have been feeding her my dogs’ Acana Lamb and Apple and she loves it.

03/07/25-Nala is tiny 4 year old female Mini Aussiedoodle (miniature poodle/miniature Australian shepherd). She came in tonight from a commercial breeder as they just didn’t need her anymore. She does have 2 spots where initial vet check says looks like she had old injuries that healed but her fur didn’t grow back.  The skin patch often gets better with good food, no longer breeding & less stress, etc.  We had a dog that was even worse than Nala & it all grew back about a year later. Funny thing was it was always different shade. Lol  The vet also said her teeth are so good looking that she appears may be younger than age we were told (sometimes we may be given a wrong birthdate). She has her pre-spay appointment on Monday 3/10 & hopefully her spay date soon after.
