5/7/25-Petunia is a super star. She has been super patient & cooperative while having multiple baths and daily moisturizing to help her recover from a nasty bout of demodex mange. Now she only needs a baths if she is symptomatic & a little moisturizing 3x a week. And things are only getting better from here! Now that Tunie is feeling better she is showing her wild, playful side. She has mastered the doggie door and loves going outside to romp in the grass, play with toys, or sunbathe. Despite this, house breaking continues to be a challenge and will need a devoted family to help her master this. Petunia is still a puppy and enjoys being wild outside, wrestling with foster siblings & helping foster Mom in the garden (then promptly digging up those plants to play with! Lol). She would be happy in a house with other dogs, or as an only dog in an adoring household where she could be queen bee.
4/23/25-Petunia was spayed today & good news on her heart murmur, they said is a lower grade, only a 2 out of 6. This is considered a low grade murmur & no medication or follow up needed now. It is just something to note as she gets older to monitor at yearly vet visits & to watch.
04/17/25-Petunia is a sweet about 2 year old French Bulldog that was a stray to a shelter we work with. She was found with a Pug/English bulldog mix we took in too (Fern McZoomies) & no one claimed them. She is coming in tomorrow thanks to her transport volunteers. Her skin is a mess with scrapings showing demodex mange (non-contagious type). She is being treated with an antibiotic, medicated baths & will need extra NexGard for 3 months to clear it all up. The initial vet also said she has a possible grade 4 heart murmur; we will have our regular vet check that out & get a second opinion. If all goes well on her Wednesday 4/23 vet appointment she will be spayed & get her heartworm test then too. Once we get her spayed, a little more healthy & get to know her better too she will be ready to go to her new home.
