5/31/22-Sweet Penny has come so far since her first day in foster care. She has become much more comfortable in her surroundings and loves her people. She has even learned to get along with the high energy doggie she lives with. Penny still doesn’t like an in your face doggie playmate but her foster sister has been good about respecting her boundaries. Penny spent the past week in boarding while we were on vacation and her caretaker just fell in love! He actually wanted to adopt her but he already has too many dogs. He said she is so sweet and laid back. While there she got along well with an older calm German shepherd. Penelope still sleeps though the night and does well when left in a crate during working hours. She’s the perfect dog!  We would love for penny to find the right home of her very own! She will need patience while she transitions since she is a shy girl. If you think that is you, apply to adopt!

5/9/22-Are you looking for a best bud to hang out with? Well good! So is Penelope! She loves to follow her humans around the house, hang out on the couch and watch tv or take nice long walks.
Penny is cat friendly and has learned to put up with having a doggy sister. She is fearful of other dogs while out on leash so other interactions with dog friends have not been attempted. New people make her nervous still but she is much more trusting then when she first came in to rescue. She most likely had little human interaction while living in the puppy mill, so her new family will need patience while she gets to know you. When she does she is a love bug that loves scratches and snuggles on the couch.
Penny sleeps all through the night in her dog bed. She has been working on her manners and minds well. She really is such a good dog that deserve the best life.

4/27/22-Penelope has started to open up some more the past couple days. She greats people with excitement and likes hanging out with her fur sister more. She still does not like too much doggie excitement though and gets jealous of other dogs if she is not getting all the excitement. Her and the cat are getting along great! She is learning some good manners on the leash as well.
She has been a great house guest but it’s time for Penelope to find her forever home!

4/11/22-Meet Penelope! Penelope was recently surrendered from a puppy mill in Ohio. She came in like most mill dogs, under-socialized, a bit smelly, scared and nameless. She has been in foster care for about 5 days now and has already learned to trust people a little. After 6 years of life she has finally been given a name!

Everything is new and changing for this sweet girl. So far she has done well with potty time, is ok in the kennel and sniffed the cat with no incident! She does need some leash training and basic commands. So stay tuned while we get to know her a little better!

4/6/22-Penelope arrived at her temporary foster home today. She was a breeder at a puppy mill that no longer had any use for her. More updates soon from her foster home.
