12/08/25-Mandy is such a good girl.  Loves to play & great on leash.  Happy to sit on your lap.  Wants to please.  She is a lady always. Has a quirky little boxer wiggle.  She has a protective bark but greets people with a smile and a sit!

Has vet follow up on Thursday & think they will be pleased with her skin. Hopefully after this we will be able to get her into her new home before the holidays.
11/30/25-Mandi’s head is looking a lot better. She seems to be feeling a lot better too and is much happier. She loves chilling on the couch.

11/23/25-Mandy’s skin is still very bad. I am going to try to bath her today. She has started to become very coy and silly with toys now. Currently she is absolutely a velcro pup. A very very good girl though & walks great on leash. She was challenging my golden retriever Rosie to play with toys today, always a good sign. Her next vet appointment is Thursday 12/11 to check on her skin healing progress.

11/22/25-Mandy is more playful tonight. Hopefully she is feeling a little better after 2 days of medication. She will not be ready to be matched to her new home at least until her next vet check up in 3 weeks, depending on how that goes.

11/20/25-The day after Mandy came into rescue she had rubbed the bumps on top of her head until she was bleeding. We went to the vet today & she had a scraping that showed a bacterial infection. She was so scared she was growling at the vet so she needed to be muzzled. Poor baby doesn’t know what has happened this week. She had a negative heartworm/lyme test. She is being put on Apoquel (for possible allergies) & antibiotics for 3 weeks. She was also prescribed a shampoo and a mouse but I am waiting to use them until her skin is less irritated. She needs to see the vet again in 3 weeks then they need to do biopsies on the lumps on her head.

11/16/25-Mandy is a beautiful 5 year old reversed brindle boxer that came into rescue today. She was sadly surrendered by her owner due to changes in her personal situation & she could no longer care for Mandy. She lived with cats & another dog & said to be good with both & also good with kids over 4. She came jn with bumps on top of her head & needs to have them looked at by the vet. Once we get that cleared up & we get to know her & her needs better she will be ready to find her new home.
