6/10/2022 – Lucas has been in his permanent foster home for a week now and is doing wonderful! He has Lyme disease and is being treated with antibiotics to clear him. He is a very rambunctious boy who just realizes how wonderful it is to be out of the puppy mill. I’m sure he’s fathered a lot of puppies, but that’s behind him now. Although, his testosterone levels are still quite high as he thinks my older boxer is there for him to hump. Once I see what is going on, a loud NO is enough for him to stop. My guy is so submissive and Lucas just wants to make his place in the pack. No fighting has ever occurred.

He is a very handsome boy and is so good. He loves being outside to strut his long legs and on occasion has done the boxer bow and wiggle to get some playtime in. He’s going to be a great addition to anyone’s home.

For being in my house for less than a week, he’s also a great watch dog. He met my dog sitter the day before she came to take care of them. As she came into the house, he was barking and jumping in the crate. He wanted everyone to know someone new was in the house. Once she opened the crate and he joined the others, he was fine. He loves to go in his crate and will go in even before he sees the treat.

This boy is going to make an awesome companion and playmate once he finds his forever home.

5/29/22-Lucas arrived to his foster home yesterday thanks to his overnight temporary foster & kind and patient transport team who gave him some TLC during his trip.  Thank you to all for helping this boy make it safely to his foster home. Lucas was given up by the puppy mill farm, deciding he was no longer valued as a sire of future litters, which for him, will result in a whole new life.  He’s a beautiful flashy red brindle with lots of white markings, and a temperament  to match his good looks. He is being neutered this week and he will be ready for his new life. So, check back soon as we get to know this very handsome boy.
