(Since I’m still a baby I need home with someone home more often. Ex: work at home, retired, at home parent, work opposite, etc)
Sparky would love a friend to play with. He does play nice but needs to work on his sharing. He loves Josie and never wants to leave her alone. He even forces cuddles on her lol. He is working on his manners with the ladies… likes to sneak in some humps any chance he can. Lol He is sleeping with us in bed at night and makes it through the night without needing to go out. He likes to start at the foot of the bed and then make his way up to cuddle between Josie and me. He definitely knows that the alarm means it’s time to wake up and he will make sure you don’t hit snooze.
He is amazing on the leash and doesn’t react to anything or anyone. He loves loves loves the bath/shower. Keeps his head right under the stream when I’m in there. He knows how to play catch and even returns the ball.
He loves his bones and is good motivated.
Overall, he’s just your typical energetic boxer baby. He’s still learning but I think he’ll be a great addition to any active family/person, or family/person with a fenced in yard who has a doggie playmate for him.
1/23/26-Sparky is doing great! There has been a significant change in him the past day and a half. He is finally calming down easier and giving Josie space. He definitely still has loads of energy, but he is picking up on the ques to back off and relax. He will go find a comfy space to lay down on his own rather than following me everywhere. I had some meetings while working from home today and didn’t bother me a single time! He loves to watch out the windows and chew bones. He knows sit and paw. We haven’t quite mastered down yet. He is calming after a few minutes in his crate. He doesn’t go right in the crate, but with a few treats and some coaxing, he gets in there. Hes been in there for 7 hours with no accidents or issues He doesn’t try to get out- I’ve left the door unlocked and he didn’t get out. He goes to the door when he needs to potty. He did have an accident but it was more fault for taking myself to the bathroom first one morning lol. He needs to work on sharing. He wants to steal everything Josie has. She doesn’t fight it so unless I see, he gets away with it. Overall, he’s doing great! Settling in nicely. He would do great with either a doggy friend or an active family/person!
1/21/26-He is a very curious and loving baby boy. Sparky boy worked on his beauty shots today! Lol He will make someone an amazing companion.
1/20/26-Day/night 2 went great with Sparky! He started the day off pretty energetic but by dinner time he was completely pooped out. He has become my little shadow and likes to follow me everywhere… even wanted to get into the shower with me! He takes treats gently and is food motivated. Slept through the night and accident free. He likes to carry things around in his mouth- stealing slippers or shoes but doesn’t chew them. He will play the run away game when you try to take it away. He is content playing with toys/bones on his own. On our walks he wants to play with Josie more than actually walk so I’m going to try walking them separately tonight. We did run into some dogs that had escaped their yard this morning and Sparky was completely fine. He didn’t react at all. He’s hasn’t reacted towards any critters or people when we’re out. Today is his first day in the crate so we’ll see how that goes! We are still getting to know him better & his needs. He will be ready to go to his new home very soon.
1/19/26-Sparky is doing great! Full of puppy energy. He is absolutely obsessed with my female dog, Josie. He wants to play with her nonstop! He did great overnight, slept from 930-6. It took him a bit to calm but once all the lights were off and it was clear it was bed time, he settled. He is definitely your typical high energy boxer puppy. He is very happy, curious and loving. Doesn’t make many noises, aside from snoring! Haven’t heard him bark yet.
