4/6/26-Mr. Scruffy was introduced to 5 year old and 2 1/2 year old children for a 24 hour visit. He hid from them by hiding behind me . The children were good & were not pushy but Scruffy was scared, but not aggressive. For the most part avoidance was the key. He started to warm up to the adults, hopped on my son’s lap too a few hours after the 1st meeting. He’s a year old but is still very much a puppy! Runs up and down stairs like a pro; and loves zooming in the back yard! Tired already after morning routine.

4/02/26-So stinking cute! Scruffy is doing well, he loves running around the yard just for the sake of running.  He is playful, smart, still cautious of strangers so will need adjustment time. Will probably bond with the mom of the house first. Doesn’t like being crated or left alone. He has a beagle voice but looks like a mini schnauzer with floppy ears and a curled tail. Will need training and lots of love . At first he didn’t like my kisses but now gives me lots of kisses. Plays with my dog Coco and trying to get closer to her. Coco plays a little rough but it doesn’t deter him. Sweet boy ! A friend also got to meet Mr Scruffy & her quote “omg he’s cuter in person”.  

3/25/26-Eight pounds of love! Mr. Scruffy didn’t like me on day one but 14 hrs later got neutered & I’m now his BFF! Lol He gets along well with Coco my female 60lb labradoodle. Currently he doesn’t like being crated if he can’t see you. He potties outside most of the time & peed on pee pads in house. He is energetic, playful, loving. Only needed a few days to adjust! He was very cautious at first. He hasn’t met a toy that he doesn’t love! Coco gently reminds him that they are all her toys. Lol Name that suits him…Scruffy.

03/22/26-Mr. Scruffy is an adorable about 12 month old male puggle (pug/beagle)/terrier mix rescued from an overcrowded backyard breeder along with 4 other puggle & puggle terrier mix dogs. He has arrived safely thanks to his transport volunteers. We have had many others in past from this breeder & they have all been very sweet & great dogs. He has his vet checkup & shots on Monday 3/23 & soon after that he will be ready to go to his new home.
