6/12/26-This handsome devil loves to play and is a fantastic snuggler with both humans and other dogs.
 
6/6/26-One Week update:Yogi has been a perfect gentleman since arriving last weekend. Despite his seemingly endless amounts of energy he saves it all for when he’s out in the yard (which is quite often, this boy just loves to be outside!) and keeps it under control when he’s in the house. He can be a little jumpy at times as most boxers are, but responds well to corrections and is very gentle with both the humans as well as our Frenchie and our older female. No issues whatsoever with accidents in the house, it does help that we have a dog door so he’s free to come and go as he pleases, but never a hint of possibility of going in the house. He’s doing even better in his crate and has settled into our morning routine quite well. The past few days we haven’t’ had to say anything, he just goes right in and quietly relaxes. We had hoped he could learn a thing or two from our dogs, turns out they could learn some things from him! It’s striking how quickly he’s found his place in our pack, it’s hard to believe he’s only been here for a week. Everyone has been getting along as if they’ve lived their entire lives together. As I said, he relishes his time outside and we feel it would be important for him to live where he has room to run and burn off all of that energy. He’d do well as an only dog with someone who puts the time in to play with him, but we think he would also thrive in a multi-dog household.  Again, it’s only been a week, but we haven’t seen any signs of dominance whatsoever.
We did some gardening the other day and as you can see in the picture, Yogi helped out by guarding the dirt we transferred! Also, he tolerated some time on the grooming table yesterday after watching the others get their nails done and being brushed,  he let me trim his front paws and give him a good brushing (he’s a heck of a shedder, just like our white girl).

6/1/26-Day 3 update….Yogi is a very good boy and adapting to the house rules very quickly from patiently waiting with his foster brothers and sisters at meal time to adapting very well to his crate. He’s bursting with energy and loves running around our yard and has been very well-mannered with our male boxer who hasn’t been very receptive to playing. While Yogi continues to try to engage him, he doesn’t force the issue at all and respects boundaries. We’re struck at how well-behaved Yogi is, while we’re keenly aware that we’re in the honeymoon period and he’s on his best behavior, it’s clear that he has some good foundational training and hasn’t forgotten any of it!  He’ll be 3 in August, lots of boxer energy still.  So far he plays well with our Frenchie but doesn’t realize he’s twice his size.  He’s been doing at least one walk a day the last few days plus lots of running around and playing in the yard several times a day.  

5/31/26-Day 2 down for Yogi and he’s starting to really let loose.  He’s very concerned with my comings and goings but makes a great door watcher and workmate!  Today was filled with lots of play time; So far he’s been great with our other dogs and it’s clear he was a couch & bed sharer but takes redirection well.  He’s a big, lovey goofball!

5/30/26-Incoming!!! This chunky monkey Yogi is ready to start a new life with an active family who can match his energy.  He will be available once we get to know him a little better. Already known:  He’s a confirmed lover and playful with humans as well as other dogs.  And follows quite a few commands with good listening skills.

Note from his foster home: Yogi is pooped after his first day!  He’s very curious as to what’s happening and why the resident pups have more privileges right now but he’s a good listener and equally responsive to a few commands. We’re all looking forward to seeing how things progress.

5/29/26-Yogi is a beautiful almost 3 year old boxer owner surrender that is voming into rescue tomorrow.  His owner got him as a puppy & he loves Yogi but feels he does not have the sufficient time that he deserves. He is constantly traveling for work & has asked friends to care for him when traveling. He was crated as a puppy but has had free roam for past two years. He is not destructive and is social with the neighbor dogs. In addition he has been exposed to toddler grandchildren & good with them.  Comment from his owner “Yogi is a great companion dog he’s loyal and very low maintenance.”
