8/18/22-Oh so many changes in Bunny in just this last week alone.  I can say at this point that she is potty trained because she has not had a single accident in my house since her day of arrival, and her crate is always clean and dry at night and when I go to work, which earned her a brand new dog bed for her crate.
This week Bunny discovered doggy toys, both squeaky toys and stuffed, Iv’e never had a dog that will take the toy out into the yard, play with it, then bring it back up on the deck and often back into the house, she amazes me every day.  She’s happy as can be and very proud of herself and loves trotting around with the toy in her mouth.  She loves the magic mesh door I have from the house onto the deck and just lets herself out and back in at will while I’m home.  She also loves playing with my Boston Terrier and my aged boxer boy, she gets so excited she does a great kidney bean dance and walks sideways at the same time, she is just absolutely the best foster girl.  She also has the best bounce to her step when she trots across the yard, but can and does run like a gazelle and jumps in the air, but her cutest little display is she will suddenly stand up on her hind legs like a prarie dog, then breaks into a full out run around the yard displaying her zoomies to the best of her ability.  She simply has come alive and loves life.
Most of the areas that were raw and swollen from past flea infestation have healed & with new hair growth, which is awesome to see.  She is still on prednisone, and will be for another week and a half, but she is looking beautiful.  She is beautiful in temperment and in looks.  Although shy with new people, she warms up quickly and has a tiny little kiss for most visitors.
Loud and sharp noises still startle her, and her initial reaction is to run, leave the room, but comes back in sooner now and looks at me as if to say “okay, nobody else ran away, it must be okay”.  I  always allow the “flight” because she’s gaining confidence every day, and always comes back to me for reasurance, and love, and that is what counts.

8/10/22-Wow so much has changed since Bunny has arrived into rescue. First her skin infection is almost gone, she only has one more day on antibiotics, and 8 more days on prednisone.  All the swelling and red inflation is gone now as well as are the scabs from scratching and she has been spayed as well as updated on all her vaccines, and started on heartgard and nexgard. There is all new hair growth on her whole body which is awesome to see.
While she was at my vet’s, she received extra special attention from one of the techs who gave Bunny the hugs and cuddles she had never received in her first 3 years of her life as a mill mama. The tech thought she was the sweetest, gentlest boxer she had ever met.
Which leads me to her temperament…she is simply awesome. She seeks out attention with a smile on her beautiful white face and sparkle in her sweet brown eyes. She loves people, children and especially other dogs. She’s learned to play with my Boston Terrier and my aged boxer boy, and seems to really enjoy neighborhood dog walkers and exercise walkers and although runs to the fence with my dogs, she’s very respectful and doesn’t bark at anyone,  just watches with her nubby little tail in constant motion.
My little Bunny is looking for a home that is as special as she is.
8/3/22-Sweet Bunny arrived into rescue,  very late at night 7/27 thanks to a dedicated group of Amish puppy mill rescue volunteers, followed by our  awesome rescue team to get her to CT.
Bunny had definitely had a tough life being a puppy mill mama, she was infested with fleas, skin infection as well as ear infections, and due to multiple litter after litter, this left her with a rather depleted immune system.
That life is over.
Bunny’s new and healthier, happier life begins. Check back soon as we get to know this sweet girl better.
