9/23/26-Poor Allie, she had a little more complicated spay yesterday because she was found to be starting heat so she is in quite a bit of pain. She has not been a huge snuggler but all she really wants is her foster mama right now. Tomorrow will be a better day, and no more puppies!
9/21/26-Today Allie went to another volunteer’s house to do a cat test. Unfortunately it didn’t go well at all. She definitely cannot go to a home with cats. Her foster mom also thinks Allie may be more on the alpha side. This is because she’s picking on her boxer boy Tyson and she think it’s because of his poor arthritic knees. She does not mess with her other female dog though. Also, Allie does try to hump her foster mom and Tyson. She thinks Allie is trying to dominate them. She does listen to correction and she’s hoping cutting some estrogen off will help after her spay. For this reason kids over 10 would be best. She definitely will need training so somebody that is committed to that will be important.
9/19/26-Sooooo our latest boxer foster Allie thinks she is a lab because of that tail!! LOL She loves retrieving balls but we have her in therapy for identity crisis… she’s gorgeous and 100% boxer though so get your app in for this silky sealed brindle girl.
9/16/26-This boxer chick with a tail does not really stand still so I have not been able to get very good pictures of her lol! Allie is doing really well though. She is very quiet in her crate at night and keeps it dry and clean. She waits for me to get up and get going in the morning and stays quiet until I open her crate. She had an accident or two on the day she arrived but since then no accidents so I think it was just transition, she seems house trained. When I get home from work she is sooooo excited and is your typical boxer with springs in her hind legs, jumping for joy. The shelter thought she was about 3 but I kind of think she’s closer to 2 because of her energy. She probably would be a little much for small children but older kids would be fine. She has been just fine around our 2 dogs. She doesn’t harass my female but she did try to play with my boxer boy. he is turning into an old codger so she learned not to bother him. I feel so bad because she would love to have a younger fur friend to run and play with. She loves to run zoomies in the yard whenever she is out. Allie will be spayed on 9/22 and then ready to go to her forever home!
9/13/26-Allie is a beautiful & sweet about 2-3 year old stray female reversed brindle with a little white female boxer with a tail. She came from a great shelter we work with as no one claimed her. She was found with Oreo the other reversed brindle & more white boxer who we think may be her daughter. They came into rescue today thanks to their transport volunteer. ummm… ZERO personal space with her! Lol We will be working on this, at least she is gentle & small! Allie is being spayed on Tuesday 9/22 & once we get to know her & her needs a little better she will be ready for her new home.
