10/18/26-Caroline is getting better every day. Working on potty training now that her heat is over. No more diaper used. She growls at my one cat but I think it is more possessive of me, but yet they lay together on me. Also, growled a little as my other cat came to her food. Haven’t seen her growl my dog or myself around her food. Maybe the cats at the breeding farm were annoying. Lol She is my shadow. Currently she is very itchy (already had flea & tick prevention), so I am using Zyrtec 1/4 tab every night but she is still itchy. I am not sure if she may have an ear infection or something. We will have her checked again at her next vet visit on Monday 10/26 when she goes for spay.
10/9/26-Caroline had a bath today. She did well. I bathed her in the kitchen sink as she is so small. She is in the bathroom to dry off with heater going to stay warm. She has been super itchy at night. I used a soothing shampoo and scrubbed her up good. She had her nexgard today too, so I am hopeful that helps too. Caroline has been in heat poor honey. So she is wearing a diaper- does well with it.
She wouldn’t eat when she arrived she would take a few bites then walk away ( tried dog bowl then dish-shown) but I finally put her food on a paper plate and this seems to be the best. She is eating what my dog eats- Purina pro plan salmon and brown rice kibble. Wasn’t a fan of meds so had to cut them up .
She likes the kitties and Jameson. She seems leary of other dogs when out for our walks. She does great walking on leash and harness. She has on a collar too and does not mind it at all. She I believe has some anxiety ( she is a Velcro dog) issues as she doesn’t like being in a crate. She goes in but barks . She barked 3 hr straight the second night ( I slept on couch with her first night) so I put rug by the bedside and she was much calmer. I bought her a doggy bed. we tried leaving her in office where crates are with my dog in his crate and her loose with her dog bed in there and door shut but I think she still has issues as she is soooooo happy when we get back and she drinks a bunch of water before she will go outside. For this reason Caroline will need someone home more often & is not going to be a good apartment or condo dog. She is set up for her spay 10/26 & I am on cancellation list too in case they get a sooner date. She is my shadow, I trip over her at least a couple times a day. Lol
10/4/26-First time in a while a foster has liked my husband. They are usually leery of him for some reason. Caroline loves everyone!
10/3/26-Meet Caroline. Sweet Caroline… she is a snuggle bug. She arrived to me this morning and is currently taking an afternoon nap on the couch next to me. She has met Jameson ( the resident dog) and two kitties. So far ignored all. Follows me everywhere. I have to watch where I am going as she is so tiny. She is so soft. She had a bath last night thanks to our great volunteers. Might have to move my kitty gate as she can go right under it. Lol It is there to keep my dog out of the cat food and litter. She is a sweetheart and follows us everywhere!
10/2/26-Sweet Caroline is a sweet 2 year old female cockapoo (miniature poodle/cocker spaniel). She came in today from a commercial breeder as they just didn’t need her anymore. She arrived safely into rescue thanks to her transport volunteers. She is being spayed Monday 10/26 & once we get to know her better & she is spayed, Caroline will be ready to go to her new home.
