9/12/22-Charlie is a “Prince Charming”.  He is great with other dogs though he does show some dominance. For this reason he would be best with a submissive dog or as only dog in his home. He is still a puppy and he has boundless energy.  I saw the zoomies yesterday and he is extremely fast.
He will be neutered the end of this week and trying to keep him relaxed for a few days may be challenging.
He is a little reserved meeting new people, especially men.  But given a few minutes and a little reassurance that it is ok, he warms up quickly. He has no leash training so we will work on that.  He is very smart so I don’t expect it to be very difficult.

9/9/22-Charlie is a 14 month old male Boxer that was given up by his owner. He was surrendered due to his energy level and his owner’s inability to give him the attention he deserves, as he was a gift for their son and he quickly lost interest.  He lived with older kids but no other animals. His owner said he is accustomed to being left alone 8 hours per day.
One of our volunteer’s assessment of Charlie showed he allowed her to handle him with ease. He was assessed with multiple dogs, a variety of sizes and ages; Charlie did great with all of them though he did show dominance & had hard time understanding cues to back off.  He showed zero signs of aggression towards myself or the other dogs though, also none with or without food. Charlie met her cat & showed no interest & he was respectful of smaller dogs when assessed. Charlie is a typical high energy Boxer puppy. He has not been taught basic commands, nor is he leash trained. He is happy, loving and energetic. I feel that Charlie would thrive in any home where someone can give him the time and attention he deserves.
