9/21/22-Ruby is warming up to her surroundings and her foster family!  She has been doing her business outside, with no further accidents in the house.  We are earning her trust slowly with patience, affection, and treats.  She is a very sweet girl and deserves a loving home with a family who will give her attention and your heart.  If you lay on the floor it is only moments before her head is on your shoulder and she is fully relaxed, snoring.  She is still learning how to walk on the leash as she has never had one before.  Fortunately she does not seem afraid of it.  She is still very cautious about going in and out of doors, and needs a little coercion and/or be picked up.  She does tolerate this well, with the occasional grunt.  She is doing much better with her crate and will walk into it if we put her front end in first.  She really is the sweetest girl and may follow the lead of other dogs in her new family home.

9/19/22-Ms. Ruby is making some progress here. She is taking her antibiotics in cheese with my cheese, antibiotic, cheese chaser method. She ate kibble last night with the help of some cooked chicken and she’s tolerating her ear drops.  No signs of aggression, though she is fearful of my 5yo autistic son’s jumping and flapping about.  She is curious so she will put her nose towards him – but we don’t let her get close enough in case she bites out of fear.

Right now she is afraid of being guided by the leash so she plants herself like a stubborn bulldog does; so it’s either drag her or pick her up and carry her outside.  When outside she will only walk around if I squat down.  I did an exercise outside walking zig zags across the yard, going farther and farther away from her each time (the yard is partially fenced there) and she did respond and grow confidence  by coming to me. A few times she did come to me while I was standing, and then did walk with me while I was  standing and holding the leash.

She followed the other bulldog well when we were on the transport, and I think she may do better in a house with other dogs, following their lead.  Here she is relaxing after our morning walking exercise.

9/17/22-Ruby is a beautiful 5 year Ex puppy Mill breeding Mama who is about to start enjoying her retirement.  After celebrating a well deserved freedom day yesterday she has made it safely into her foster home.  She is a little nervous inside the house, but did make her walk around to scope the place out.  She wasn’t a fan of dinner tonight, but did enjoy her medicine put in cheese.  She isn’t too sure about the leash, but will walk around outside and go potty if I squat down so I am not so big.  After a long day she is snoring next to me on the floor with her nose snuggled into my side.  This sweet girl is sure to steal your hea
