12/31/22-Buttercup has recently started to really let her personality come out. She is the sweetest sassiest little thing! She is starting to approach new people and give them the sniff test. Today she independently initiated getting bum scritches. She has gotten used to our routine and is independently walking out of her crate in the mornings and walking in to put herself to bed at night.  She still struggles with going down stairs so we pick her up to bring her outside. She does like to go out onto the porch with the other pups. She loves breakfast and dinner time. Seeing her tail waggles and her excited little face is the highlight of our day. Buttercup is wondering where her new home is? She’s ready to celebrate the new year with you!

12/7/22-Buttercup has recently been making lots of progress! She is independently walking into her crate to put herself to bed at night. She really loves her little stuffed ducky toy! She is a little territorial over it so we let her have ducky for bed. She is starting to get excited when we get home or enter the room! I absolutely love seeing her little nub waggle. She has definitely lost the baby weight and it is much easier for her to navigate stairs. She still struggles a bit going down but she is a pro at climbing up. She is starting to accept pets without shaking. She is ok with us sitting next to her. She still doesn’t like to be picked up but has gotten a bit better. She has independently initiated being closer or cuddling next to us. She has started to form a bond with my boyfriend and we have really been trying to focus on making her feel safe. She still absolutely loves being on the couch but has definitely started to become more confident about moving around the house independently. She would typically run from one area to the next but is starting to take her time and not be so afraid of what the humans around her are doing. It has been so great finally seeing her come out of her shell.

11/11/22-Buttercup is ready for her forever home! She had her spay on Tuesday. When she was under the vet saw that she had a hernia and repaired that for her as well. She is recovering very nicely and has been making some serious progress this week! She is no longer shying away or shaking when she is approached. Due to her surgery she isn’t allowed to navigate stairs and has been much calmer when we need to pick her up. She is starting to seek out human contact by snuggling up next to someone on the couch. She has come such a long way in the 4 weeks that she’s been with us. I know that she is going to be the best little companion.

11/4/22-Buttercup has been with us for 3 weeks! She’s still learning the ins and outs of walking on a leash and crate training. She has had a few accidents in the house when I haven’t been paying attention, but when taken out on a regular basis she does great and remains accident free. She went to the vet and received a clean bill of health. His only concern was that she is a little over weight. She is getting spayed on November 9th and will be ready for her forever home!
Her favorite spot to be is curled up on the couch. I have noticed that she does a little bit of resource guarding when it comes to her food. She’ll growl and charge at whoever is getting too close but is very easily redirected. We at times see this with mill dogs as they have to fight for their limited food.
She’s a very spunky girl when it comes to her wants. She wakes me up in the morning stamping her little feet and barking to let me know it’s time to get up and start our day. She hasn’t yet learned to enjoy human contact but when she knows the human is home she doesn’t like to be left alone in a room. She will bark and stamp her feet to demand you return to the room. Lol
She’s going to be such a fun girl once she opens up more and learns to trust.

10/25/22-Buttercup had her pre-spay check-up today & she weighed in at 17 lbs! She has a lot more momma baby weight to lose.  Her spay is November 9th & she will be ready to go home soon after!

10/17/22-Buttercup has arrived!  So far after being here a couple days she has been a very curious girl. She likes to sit back and keep an eye on her surroundings. Unfortunately due to being a breeder her entire life she doesn’t know how to be a dog. She is very nervous right now when anyone tries approaching her. We are working on walking with a leash and housebreaking her. She doesn’t seem to understand why the human is following her. Her personality is starting to peak through a bit. She’s already a sassy little girl. When she wants something she stamps her back feet and barks to make sure she is being heard. She is doing great with the resident cats and dogs in the home. I can’t wait to see her continue to grow. She truly is a little gem!

10/7/22-Buttercup is a 7 year-old sweet Miniature Pinscher. She arrived safely into her temporary foster home tonight thanks to her transport volunteers. She was saved from a puppy mill as they just were done breeding her for money. She appears to have just weaned puppies & still has the baby weight on her & needs to lose some weight so less strain on her little legs. Poor girl’s ears are chewed up & toenails so long from life in a cage just being a breeding machine. She will be getting some TLC &  spayed soon & then she can start her best life. More updates soon from her foster home.
