10/30/22-Russell here!  I really enjoy my foster family, but I’m really looking forward to finding my furever home.  A nice family who enjoys outdoor walks and taking me on car rides would keep my tail wagging.  I also really love snuggling with you on the couch, the more I can love on you, the better.  I love to play with kids and young adults, but I enjoy everyone.  Foster mom says I’m such a good boy on my walks; I will stop and sit when she needs me to, cross the road safely and I know to slow down when she needs me to.  I’m told that I’m very well behaved at home, no destructive behavior, no accidents, no aggression. She says I’m a model tenant, and I’m super sweet.  I don’t always give kisses, but when I do – know that you really did something special to win my heart over.
 
10/14/22-This boy is just a love. He has a voice! He finally has let out a few barks as the mail person delivering some packages.  He likes to make sure he can see out the window, let out some gruffs, and make his presence known to the mail person.  He quickly settles once the mail person gets back in her spaceship.  He’s got his routine down pat with his daily walking route and where he does his business, and knows where to get all the snuggles.  A snuggle bug this boy is! He accepts life from everyone, especially the kids.  He loves to give the kids kisses.  He is a little sensitive of his tail, well, you wouldn’t want your butt to be pulled on either would ya??? He will just tuck it in and turn away if the children touch it on accident.  Fortunately he doesn’t hold a grudge.  He really is the sweetest big friend and wants to have a longtime family of his own!
 
 
10/11/22-Rusty is doing very well in his foster home.  He’s enjoying his twice daily walks, and sometimes sneaks in a third if he gets a chance.  He’s doing well on the leash, likes to lead and will pull at times, but then also likes to sniff stuff.  He knows his walks are for doing his business, and he gets right down to business.  He wants to be around kids and seems to light up in their presence.  I believe Rusty will thrive in a household with kiddos.  As soon as the kids get home from school, the wiggle butt comes out…and then he’s all work; it’s nanny dog time.  He is attentive to their needs and doesn’t get in the kids’ faces, doesn’t startle when they play, but wants to be next to them.  He also doesn’t mind picking up any tidbits they drop! (Nummy food treats!).  His favorite seems to be peanut butter and he loves a kong stuffed with some, or a treat dipped in some PB.  He is a big time snuggler, and wants to be with you all the time.  He doesn’t bark unless someone is at the door, and it is usually just a little gruff under his breath. 
 
10/10/22-This big bear is such a nanny dog!!! My 5 yr old son was up late last night and couldn’t sleep, and Rusty would not go to bed either. He stayed up on the couch and kept checking on him to see if he was ok.  He sat next to him kissing his legs while he was getting changed.  He totally lit up when my boy is here. My son’s older brother was over last night and Rusty loved him too.
I really really hope he can be in a home with kids, as this seems to be Rusty’s passion.
  
10/8/22-Sweet Rusty came into rescue yesterday after his owner sadly had passed away. Rusty had been very well taken care of and he is very sweet and well mannered.  He enjoys car rides and loves going for walks.  He is very well trained and knows to do his business on his walks, hasn’t barked at all, and knows his basic obedience/manners.  Really he’s a wonderful sweet gentleman who just wants to snuggle on the couch with you.  He gets excited to go on his walks and car rides. He’s great with kids. He’s a wonderful gentleman, and will make a fabulous companion for any family with dogs, cats, or kids.  He especially likes children and may enjoy a home with kids the most. His owners family said he was used to be with his dad all day so their wish was to find a home with someone home more often.  Anyone would be lucky to have this handsome pup in their family.
