10/30/22-Chubbs is coming out of his shell more each day. Last night he had the zoomies. Unfortunately it was at 3 am, but even at 3 am is it very cute to see him do it! Lol I think it was just because I fell asleep on the couch with the dogs. When he is in bed with us he never gets up in the middle of the night.
He is playing more with all the dogs in the neighborhood and greets all our human visitors with a wagging tail with just a little shyness. We also just heard Chubbs’ owner said he was great with cats.
He is a big dog that doesn’t realize his true size and can knock you over with his exuberance.  He understands “no” and “down” but would definitely benefit from formal training. He is a love bug and very handsome.

10/25/22-Chubbs was neutered today & did very well. Vet said he had ear mites so he is going to treat that also. More updates once Chubbs heals & settles in a little more.

10/24/22-His name is Chubbs, but his name should be Shadow.  Right now he will not leave your side.  He is so happy to have people show him love that he wants to be with you at all times.  Chubbs arrived in foster on October 22nd, and although I haven’t had a lot of time to assess him, I do believe that he may have some separation anxiety.  I was out of the house yesterday for a few hours but my husband was home.  He is great with my husband, but because I was not home, he would not come in the house.  He waited out back for me to get home.
Chubbs gets along with his resident fur brother, but is unsure how to actually play.  He is also unsure what he is supposed to do with a toy.  He may do better in a home with another dog to show him the ropes. We will learn more as we get to know him.

10/21/22-Chubbs is a gorgeous fawn & white 3 year old male boxer. He arrived safely into rescue thanks to his transport volunteers & overnight foster spot. He was originally bought from an Amish puppy mill as a puppy. When his owners just couldn’t keep him anymore they wanted to give him back to the mill. Luckily the mill didn’t want him even though he isn’t neutered & could have began a terrible life of just breeding. The mill referred the owners to give him to rescue. We were told he is great with people, kids & dogs, we aren’t sure on cats. The owners also said he needs a secure wire crate, can’t use a plastic one. He is being neutered on Tuesday & should be ready to go home soon after. More updates soon from his foster home.
