11/7/22-If you want a dog that will cuddle and snuggle with you, oh boy, this is her. Bonnie can’t be more affectionate and lovable than she is! She’s always where we are. She’s very playful with my dogs & good with the cat. We walked with her into town for trick or treating on Halloween and she was wonderful. She’s a smart girl so she will get house trained soon & is doing much better, but still is learning. She doesn’t like the crate or any space where she suspect she’s going to be isolated. However she is able to sleep through the night in the crate which is next to my bed side so she knows she’s not alone. You do need to watch this girl with food & water right now as she eats and drinks compulsively. We see this often with mill dogs until they realize they will always get food & water, which they didn’t always have access to before in the mill. Bonnie’s spay is on 11/15 & she will be ready to be matched to her new home soon after!
10/29/22-Bonnie arrived safe and sound the rest of the way to her foster home today thanks to another dedicated team of transport volunteers. She was a great passenger for everyone. She’s been in the crate & been introduced to my dogs. She ate with a good appetite, drank from the other dogs’ dish, & has gone outside to the bathroom several times. She is interacting with my dogs and family pretty well so far. Right now she doesn’t want to go back in the crate although I gave her treats or toys. She prefers to lay down on the rug with the other dogs. Currently she is very calm and sociable. Bonnie will need to be spayed & have an umbilical hernia repaired before she can be matched to her new home. More updates as we get to know her.
