12/9/22-Milo has had a rough few days this week but he’s feeling better and slowly starting back on his normal diet.  He has taught me so much about caring for dogs from puppy mills.  He is still so fearful of people and it takes absolute patience to allow him to gain a comfort level with his foster family.  It’s been a month since he arrived in rescue but he still cowers and shakes at times – decreases every day.  But when he makes a breakthrough it feels so good.  He’s wagging his tail at me and slept on my lap the other night.  He’s working on learning stairs this week.  He can climb a whole flight but just can’t do that first step. Milo is looking for that patient, loving family that will help him learn that people love him & give him time to adjust.

12/2/22-Milo is back in his foster home through no fault of his own.  There was an unexpected illness in the family that adopted him.  He follows me everywhere but still is nervous when I go to pick him up. But he was so happy to see my dogs.  I never saw him wag his tail so much.  Seems he will need to go to a home with dogs.  He goes out on a schedule but knows what to do once he’s out there.

11/30/22-Sadly after only having him a few days Milo’s new mom had to give him back today to his foster home to find him a new home. She was very sad but had a sudden health issue & just  couldn’t keep him. He did have a hard time the past few days with all the changes in food & being in a new place. Due to the stress he was not eating or drinking & was getting sick so we took him right to the vet. They gave him fluids under the skin for dehydration & some meds to stimulate his appetite. We’re sure he will be back on track soon. He was so happy to see the foster homes other 2 dogs & it seemed like he was just beaming! We now feel he really needs another dog in his new home to make him most comfortable. More updates soon from his foster home as he settles back in & feels better.
11/25/22-Milo was adopted!

11/11/22-Milo LOVES his crate which he keeps very clean.  He hasn’t voluntarily come out of it yet.  I would love to report that he is house trained but it seems I am the one that’s trained.  He is still shaking and nervous when he is handled but in the yard with my dogs he calmly follows them around.  Back in the house he does a small amount of exploring always stopping to check his reflection in the dishwasher,  I don’t know if he thinks it’s another dog or he is just admiring his new haircut.  He was neutered this week and had some dental extractions.  While he was under anesthesia he also was shaved down due to matting.  What a handsome boy!!  A little too skinny but he’s eating 3 times a day to help him put on a little weight.

11/2/22-Milo is a 5 year old purebred toy Poodle. He was saved from a puppy mill as they were done breeding him. He arrived safely into rescue tonight thanks to his transport volunteers & temporary foster homes.  He is being neutered on 11/7 & will be ready to go home soon after. More updates coming as he moves to his foster home.
