11/29/2022 – Where has time gone? Hard to believe Miss Brooke has been with us almost 2 weeks. She is the sweetest girl in the world! She has learned the routine of the house very quickly. Her crate has been dry since day one and she gives me no trouble going in it – I do have to admit, there are nights, she’ll sleep on the rug by my bed because she’s a love bug! She will “crate up” once I give the command as she knows cookies will follow. When we’re outside, she loves to run and play and it melts my heart to see her so happy, knowing she spent the first 5 years of her life in a crate, only used to breed and then when they thought she was done, she was tossed. She has a new leaf on life and is so anxious to please. She is one of the sweetest, gentlest (except when she plays with my dachshund – she can give him a run for his money) mill mommas I have come across. At times, I call her my babbling Brooke because she has a voice and uses it when she wants attention. All she needs is a loving home and she will blossom into the dog she was meant to be.
11/19/2022 – Brooke arrived early afternoon thanks to some awesome volunteers that did her transport. Because of them, her days as a mill momma are over! She arrived with another foster and after exploring the back yard for a while, they met their two new 4-legged foster brothers. Everyone took time out to do proper intros before going into the house. Once everything settled down, it was dinner time. Brooke went into her crate to eat and what an appetite she had. I have to say for a dog that was a mill momma, she has no fear of humans. Right from the start, she warmed up to me and only wanted to be hugged, kissed and loved. I know I haven’t known her long, but you can see she’s going to make someone a great companion.
