12/7/22-Piper was brought to our friends house who has 2 dogs: a small female territorial dog and a large female German Shepard. She did great with them. She played all over the yard.  They also have two cats and Piper did not pay attention to either of them.

Also overall Piper has improved around my 5 year old son Lincoln. She has been barking less directly at him, and seems to be just protective of the household whenever someone comes through the front door, or a loud noise is made.  I brought Piper to see Lincoln’s brother who is 13, and she was shaking at first, but then settled and sat on the couch and received lots of loving.  She has been showing attention to Lincoln, trying to smell him and follow him around. She is startled by his fast movements, but is improving.
Today was her pre-spay vet appointment.  She did very good, is healthy & is a peanut at only 16 lbs! Her spay is 12/14 & she will be ready to be matched to her new home next week.

11/28/22-There was a lot of matting on Piper  so I had the groomer trim her down to the base and I got her a winter coat to wear.  She’s so soft! It would be only fitting to get her a Christmas collar. She loves being snuggled.

11/27/22-Piper arrived here at her foster home yesterday and is adjusting well to her foster family.  She is a Christmas baby, and would be a wonderful gift for a loving family. This sweet girl just wants to feel what it’s like to be a puppy. When she is let outside, she is overjoyed in the feeling of the grass and the crisp air.  She jumps and prances, picking up leaves and walking around with them. She looks up at her foster family smiling.  Indoors she is a little timid but she is happy and prances her feet excitedly when her name is called.  She is learning the routine and is very smart, picking up quickly what needs to be done (going potty, going in and out of the door, walking on her leash).  She has been enjoying sitting on her foster mother’s lap on the couch, where you can feel Piper finally relax her muscles and sleep peacefully and without stress.

She is getting along with my 5 year old son who has special needs. She smells him and doesn’t get in his face. She is comfortable next to him and doesn’t tense up when he touches her or moves quickly.  We think Piper is going to do just fine here in her foster family. She will be spayed hopefully in the next couple of weeks & then she will be read to be matched to her new home.

11/25/22-Piper is an almost 2 year old mini goldendoodle (miniature poodle/golden retriever) saved from death at a puppy mill as they were just done breeding her. She arrived thanks to great groups of transport volunteers & overnight holds.  More updates soon from her foster home.
