12/13/22-Macy has been in her foster home for a little over 2 weeks now. This sweet baby is still very apprehensive about her new world. It is clear she was not very loved or socialized at the puppy mill she was born in. She is still skittish and not used to being touched. Every day seems to be a reset to earn her trust. She really needs someone with the time to dedicate to show her that people are good. Time and love is all this baby needs for a great life.Treats help! She loves her snacks!
Just yesterday she began to play with toys. She finally showed signs of letting her guard down and being able to act like a puppy! And oh is she goofy! We have nicknamed her muppet because of her long fur and wacky mannerisms.
She loves to run in the yard and chase her foster fur sisters. Having balls to chase in her new home is a must!
She recently went for a ride to grandmas house and was good in the car. When she meets new people she is curious but still scared. She will give quick hand licks and loves a good ear scratch! You can tell she really wants to be with people and except love but is unsure…it’s just a matter of time.
Potty training is still going amazing! Leash training not so much. She does not like being on a leash.
Macy is still crate training. She still needs some time with it but goes in no problem.
Macy is just beginning to open up. So far she seems to be a calm puppy. With patience and love she will finally be able to make her transformation and I can’t wait to see it! She really needs a forever family to help her blossom. If that is you apply today! Her spay was delayed a week due to the busy holidays until 12/27 but she will be ready to go home after that.

(Since I’m a still a baby I need home with someone home more often. Ex: work at home, retired, at home parent, work opposite, etc)

12/01/22-Macy is a shy puppy who was surrendered by a puppy mill so she has had very little exposure to humans. She is getting used to being handled and living in a home. Once she warms up she loves to snuggle in. She is still getting used to things so we are still learning about each other. It does seem like she will warm up soon though. She is already up to the regular puppy antics like playing hide and go seek around the tree when it’s time to come inside!

Macy will need to learn her basic commands and how to walk on a leash, but for right now we are just allowing her to get used to all the sights and sounds of home life.  As of right now she is scared of the leash and the sound of the kennel opening. She will go into the kennel without issue but needs time to come out once she hears the latch noise. Potty training is a work in progress as with any puppy, but she can already hold it for a whole day while foster mom is at work and has had only one accident inside the kennel.

Macy likes the other dogs in her foster home, especially the one year old German Shepherd who is fun to chase. Her and the cat have sniffed a couple times with no issue but she has also barked at it so we are hesitant to say ok to kitties until we figure that out.

Macy is an adorable soft fluffy baby and will need a family to call her own once she gets spayed. Stay tuned for more updates as we get to know her.

11/25/22-Macy is a beautiful almost 6 month old purebred chocolate parti Standard Poodle. She was saved from being killed by a puppy mill as she just got too old for them to sell. She arrived safely into our rescue tonight thanks to her transport volunteers. She is being spayed on 12/20 & will be ready to be matched to her new home after that.  More updates soon from her foster home!
