1/30/23-Bena is doing great! She is the most fun little dog. She went from being so shy to jumping on laps for snuggles and wanting to be part of everything that is going on.
Bena did have a set back with her stomach issues after her spay/being on pain meds but all is well now. She is eating Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Diet and the treats that go along with it.
Bena isn’t much of a barker but she was when she was nervous and settling in the first week but now she pretty much only barks if one of her foster brothers hears something and they start barking. She is very quiet in her crate with the exception of one night I forgot to put a chew toy in her crate. She barked, I figured out what the problem was, gave her a nylabone and didn’t hear another peep. She’s definitely a creature of habit! She knows she gets a “bedtime cookie” and waits patiently in her crate. She also happy goes in her crate when I leave for a biscuit. She is very food motivated for sure!
Bena is such a great little dog. If she’s not playing with her foster brothers she is either snuggling with one of them or on one of our laps. Bena is ready for her forever family, better get those applications in right away!

12/26/22-Bena arrived at her foster home on Wednesday 12/21. She received her Christmas Miracle a few days early! A vet was at a puppy mill and the miller requested her to be euthanized due to having diarrhea. Can you even imagine?! The vet refused the request and contacted a trusted rescuer who put the word out and Bena came to SCBR. After just a few days in her foster home her belly is feeling better and she is doing well. More updates on that coming soon as I don’t want to jinx our progress!

Bena is sweet as can be. She is great with the 3 English Bulldogs in her foster home. Even my crotchety old senior girl seems to like her! Bena is a little timid with people but is coming around quickly. Today she even wiggled her nub for me. She is eating well, quiet in her crate and it’s always clean/dry. So far no accidents in the house either. Very impressive!

Bena keeps herself busy playing/chewing on toys and hasn’t gotten into a mischief. She’s a really nice girl. We will get her spay scheduled tomorrow and then she will be ready for her new family. More updates coming soon!

12/21/22-Bena is a beautiful 16 month old French bulldog. She was saved from being killed by a puppy mill as they said she has chronic bloody diarrhea that mill claims to have tried “everything”.  The vet luckily said they were not euthanizing a dog who just needs the correct medication &/or diet.  She arrived safely into rescue yesterday thanks to her transport volunteers. We started her on antibiotics Metronidozale & ciprofloxacin & will try a food that we find helps too.  She will also need to be spayed before she is ready to be matched to her new home. More updates from her foster home soon!
