2/7/23-Kiki saw the vet today to be spayed & weighed a healthy 13 lbs!  They did find a mammory lump that will be removed when she is spayed. They did chest x-rays also to make sure her lungs were clear & no cancer showing. The X-rays looked great & no signs of cancer but they did see a mildly enlarged heart. Her bloodwork & ecg showed mild heart disease too. Poor girl, all likely due to 7 years of neglect at the mill & a very hard life of constantly breeding her in a cage for profit.  Unfortunately there was a miscommunication at the vets so she didn’t have her surgery as planned. Her spay & lump removal is now rescheduled for next Tuesday 2/14. Once that is complete Kiki will be able to be matched to her new home & start her new life!

2/6/23-Yesterday Kiki had play date with a mini poodle friend Bert and Yorkie cousins TT and Oliva. They had a long day of playing and they are still tired today. Kiki loves to dance on two legs and greet us at the door. Such a sweet & friendly girl with everyone she meets!

1/29/23-Kiki got groomed today. Before we left, she met her foster cousins, who are also Yorkies. She loved being with them.  Her foster cousins went with her to get groomed. Her foster sister was sad that she left, and actually barked and howled, which she does not usually do in general.  When she got back, it was snuggle time.  Kiki also does well with a harness and walking on a leash. She knows her name now and comes when you call her.
Thank you, Sarah for making her look so pretty!

1/28/23-Miss Kiki Mae has been with almost a week and it feels like she has been with us forever. She continues to greet anyone who walks in the door by dancing on two legs. Kiki loves snuggling on a blanket or with her humans. She got her very own lamb chop toy today and was carrying it around and is now lay with it on her foster mom’s lap. She is getting groomed tomorrow for her first vet appointment before she gets spayed on 2/7. Kiki is such a lover and will make any family happy to have her.

1/21/23-Day 4 of Miss Kiki Mae. Last night Kiki slept in bed with her humans. She is becoming more comfortable with Dottie. Kiki loves human touch and will lay on her back for belly rubs. Kiki love Royal Canin stew soft food and Science Diet for sensitive stomach small bite hard food. She is not yet playing with toys or initiating play with her foster sister. Kiki will dance on two legs when she is excited.

1/20/23-Day 3 of Miss Kiki Mae. Kiki is such a sweet snuggle bug. Today she had free range of the downstairs. She was running around dancing on two legs for her humans to pet and snuggle her.  Kiki loves to greet you at the door and gets supper excited to see you. She is improving on potty pad training. Kiki loves apple wrapped in chicken treats and her food.

1/19/23-Day 2 with the adorable and sweet Kiki. Kiki Mae is adjusting well to her foster home and her foster sister. Since Kiki has been at the house has it has helped our mill girl Dottie Mae come out of her shell. Dottie is now walking around the house and keep Kiki company on her own. Dottie truly loved mommy and daddy’s bed until Kiki came. Now she keeps Kiki company from the couch and checks on her when she moves around.
Kiki loves to explore her new surrounds. She is adjusting well. Kiki is on a healthy diet with good food and is loving it. She has also found a few snacks she loves. Kiki loves having her foster sister around. She is starting to adjust to potty pad training. Kiki also love watching dog cartoon movies with Dottie when her foster parents are at work.

1/18/23-Please welcome foster girl Miss Kiki to SCBR family. She is really friendly and sweet. I usually don’t wash them on the first day but she wanted cuddles and is already lying on the couch sleeping with her foster mom & her dog Dottie.  That mill smell is the worst.

1/18/23–Kiki is a 7 year old Yorkshire Terrier that arrived into rescue last night thanks to her transport volunteers. She was saved from being killed by a puppy mill as they were done breeding her. She has her pre-spay vet checkup January 30th & will be spayed February 7th. Once she is spayed she will be ready to be matched to her new home! More updates soon from her foster home.
