2/3/23-Penny is such a sweet and amazing girl! She’s recovering well from spay and she did have a urinary tract infection that seems to have cleared up after some antibiotics. The vet also did a deep clean of her ears while she was under for her spay & sent her home with medication for the ear infections too. We are still working on getting her ear infections under control and they will likely need regular care for life.
In less than a week, Penny has learned her name, how to navigate stairs, and how to eat/drink from a bowl. Most importantly, she’s learning how to be a dog, how to snuggle and be part of a family, and what it means to be free! (In fact, though she is only crated overnight or while we are away, she now prefers to be OUT of her crate and fusses a bit in there). In the morning, her crate is always dry, but we are still working on potty training while free in the house. She does a silly “poopy dance” which is a great forewarning. LOL! She does good with the other dogs, will play a little with them too. She’d be fine with kids over 4 and would do well in an apartment or condo as she is very quiet. Penny doesn’t flinch at any loud noises either so city life would be fine too. She’s a Little toughie!! I could really say so much more about this sweetheart…. She has worked her way into all our hearts (including that of my martyr dog) and will be a perfect addition to a lucky family!
1/29/23-Introducing my newest foster, lil miss Penny!! She may not look like it but she is the sweetest frenchie you ever met! She’s a 6 year old retired mill mama with the cutest toofers. Her ears may never stand up due to chronic, untreated ear infections. Her poor ears are like cauliflower. She also appears to have a bad urinary tract infection. She is great with the other dogs, loves everyone she meets & rode well in the car. Penny will be available soon after vet checkup & spay on Monday.
1/28/23-Penny arrived to her foster home today. She had her 1st bath and is taking an evening nap in her fresh, clean crate with a new mattress from Nancy and a warm blanky. Next up: snacks! Thank you all!!
1/27/23-Penny is a very sweet 6 year old female French bulldog. She was saved from being killed by a puppy mill as they were just done breeding her. She arrived safely into rescue today thanks to her transport & overnight volunteers. Updates from her foster home soon!
