4/19/21-Miss Poppy arrived on her freedom ride on Friday. She was a release from a Puppy mill. Now that her breeding days are behind her Poppy’s life just got a whole lot better!
Poppy is 5 years old purebred English bulldog, spay and up to date. She is currently being treated for some skin infections but is otherwise healthy. She’s not as skittish as some puppy mill dogs but can be a little shy. Especially head/hand shy. She gets a bit scared and ducks but luckily she wants love and attention and quickly recovers. She will stay next to you for hours if you are petting her. We are working on housebreaking but it will take some time since she is definitely more afraid outside then in the house but she’s made great progress in just a few days. I have 2 English Bulldogs and am also fostering Beatrice. She gets along great with all of the other dogs. Poppy is a very sweet, gentle girl. I’m excited to see her get used to being a family pet, learn to play with toys and see her become the dog she was always meant to be. More updates coming soon!
