2/23/23-I picked up a fluffy bed for my fosters. Here is Luna relaxing this morning. First time I got her in it. She’s such a beautiful sweet girl!

2/21/23-Luna is feeling much better from her surgery. She is becoming less nervous each day. I had a family dinner on Sunday. She was cautious but checked everyone out and let them pet her as the afternoon progressed. As we ate dinner she sat by my chair – not begging but dozing off sitting up! Check out the attached photos to see her dozing off. Keep track of her ear using the wall socket as a point of reference. Luna has spent the last couple days with my nine year old granddaughter. Luna does not mind the petting but does not engage in play yet. If she is not eating or doing laps in the house she loves to sit with me in the recliner and will sit for hours.Yesterday we took her for a walk around the block. She did well on the leash and harness but may circle around your legs a bit.

02/18/23-Luna joined my home last Saturday.
There was a delay in getting an update on Luna as she had a setback because she tore her spay incision on Monday. It was really bad so she had to be rushed to an emergency vet. She had tests & an emergency surgery to put her back together & an overnight stay. Almost $3,700 later she is now on the mend and her new incision is healing well. She also was found to have a grade 3 luxating patella on left rear leg (aka truck knee) but nothing is to be done for that.

As you would expect since coming from a life of living in a puppy mill she is still nervous. She will stay quietly in her crate but you have to put her in the crate. I have been feeding her in the crate but she has not connected the two yet. She will walk on the leash a bit however she will walk around you in-circling your legs. I am slowly gaining her trust. She will follow me around the house with her cute little steps. Luna is learning her name and coming upon being called but stays at a distance for a bit then comes closer. I have been able to hold her on my lap or next to me in a recliner. If you remove your hand after petting her, she will look up at you “why did you stop?” My granddaughter – 9, will be staying with me for a few days. She is very good with dogs having three of her own. After they have spent time together, I will update again. Luna is a tiny lady in need of love, patience and training. She will be ready to be matched to her new home & start her new life soon!

2/10/23-Luna is a cute 4 year old black & white female Boston terrier. She was saved from being killed by a puppy mill as they were just done breeding her. She arrived safely into rescue today thanks to her transport & overnight volunteers. More updates from her foster home soon!
