3/14/23-Many changes for Miss Pippa over the last few weeks.  She visited with another foster home, came back to me, and I could see she had more confidence as a result of her sleep over.  She is very good with my dogs, however she doesn’t seek out their company or really play with them, but just seems to accept their presence and does like going outside with them, but she doesn’t try to snuggle up with them.  She is a very gentle soul, and has gotten better about  going in her crate, but often does need to be lead to it.  Some dogs are food motivated when it comes to learning commands or receiving  praise.  She is slowly learning that being praised, getting body massages, hugs and pats, are good things. But she’s still not convinced that treats are anything special.  She eats well, but I guess I just haven’t found the special treat that motivates her.

She’s walking better every day on leash, and will trot right along beside me, but when startled or scared her first inclination is to flee. For this reason this girl needs a physical fenced yard. She likes to take her potty breaks out of my sight and in my fenced yard she can do that.  She has not had a single accident in my house.  I’ve actually let her be out of the crate a few nights, and has been an absolute doll, once in the middle of the night I heard her little chirp of a bark, and she was at the sliding glass door, actually asking to go out.  It’s not consistent yet, but she’s a smart girl. Miss Pippa has her spay appointment
Monday 3/20/23 and then she’ll be ready for her forever home.

2/20/23-Pippa went to get spayed today but since she is in full blown heat our vet said it was not safe to do. She needs to wait 4 weeks so we plan to get l her spayed around 3/20. After that she will be able to go to her new home! Her foster mom will update more soon.
2/19/23-Miss Pippa arrived to rescue after being released from her life as a mill mama. She had an outstanding rescue team that helped her every step of the way, and she would really like to thank everyone who made her journey possible.
Pippa is a beautiful red Merle with striking brown facial and leg markings highlighted by white nose, chest and little white feet. Right now she is shy, but will investigate her surroundings and follows my dogs lead, both in the house as well as the yard. Although not house broken, we take lots of trips outside, and as a result, no potty accidents. So I’m very impressed with her beginning to this strange new world she’s navigating.
So check back soon as we get to know her better.

2/15/23-Pippa is a 1 1/2 year old gorgeous red Merle female mini aussie (miniature Australian shepherd). She was saved from being killed by a puppy mill as they were just done breeding her. She arrived safely into rescue today thanks to his transport & overnight volunteers. She has a spay appointment for Monday 2/20. Once Pippa is spayed & we get to know her better then she will be able to be matched to her new home.  More updates from her foster home soon!
