3/30/23  Panini is just so happy these days! He is doing wonderfully. His leash walking is improving, he goes in his crate with ease, and is even more comfortable and confident riding in the car.

He’s learned “sit”, “paw”, “off” (all four feet on the floor), “go to bed” (crate). We are still working on his door manners, they have improved, and on calm greetings for people he’s familiar with.

We did a little Easter photo shoot and egg hunt for him today and he really enjoyed himself finding and opening the eggs that had a treat in them!

3/20/23-Panini needed his emotional support human at the vet today, he has an ear infection and people kept poking his ears. He was a VERY good and patient boy, he let the vet and techs do whatever they needed. Panini is still looking for his forever home. He is house trained, crate trained, has basic obedience training, is okay with cats, great with kids, friendly with other dogs, and is a loving and goofy pup. Just because he’s a bigger boy don’t pass him up, he’s a great gentle puppy!

3/14/23-Panini took a short trip to a fellow foster home to do a cat test with her cats. We spent about 10 minutes over with the kitties. He was curious but not overly interested. Sniffed a bunch but didn’t chase. Didn’t retaliate either when one swatted at him a few times. With dog savvy cats Panini should be fine.

3/10/23-Panini is officially neutered and is recovering well. He is pretty good about taking his pills and leaving his cone alone. Panini is 100% HOUSE TRAINED as of a week ago! Absolutely no accidents! He even has occasionally used our dog doorbell to let us know he has to go. He gets along great with the other dogs & is such a love bug!

3/9/23-Panini was neutered earlier this week & is doing great. For the first time even ran the doggie doorbell to go out! He’s such a smart boy. My 7 yr old son loves to hug him, Panini just loves the kids!  This big, sweet gentle boy is ready to find his new home.
3/4/23-Panini is doing wonderfully, he has learned sit so quickly. We are working on calm greetings and door manners and he’s coming along beautifully. Panini has had NO ACCIDENTS in a week! He knows to go to the door when he has to go out. He walks quite well on a leash, if not quite in a straight line, he doesn’t pull. He had a bath and blow dry today and was even good for the forced air dryer. Stairs are still a mystery for him, he just doesn’t understand how to move his legs to go up then. He just jumps the 1-2 stairs to go in or out of the house to potty or walk. I’m sure with some practice he will “get it” as he sure wants to! His neuter is scheduled for Monday & he’s ready to go home. .
2/23/23-Panini is doing really well, he is such a sweet and gentle guy! Crate training is going okay, he does complain for a few minutes after going in but settles down. He sleeps all night in his crate, and has been crated while we were out of the house for a couple of hours and did fine. Leash walking is improving and he has conquered going up and down 2-3 steps, but hasn’t tried our stairs to the upper level or basement at all. We are starting to work on a few basic concepts like door manners, “sit”, and “come”. House training I’d say he’s about 80% there.
He’s really starting to enjoy playing tug and chase with our Boxer and for being a long dog he can turn on a dime! He has a couple of favorite toys and it is so fun to watch him running around like a goofball with them in his mouth.
Panini had his pre-op appointment yesterday for his neuter, his physical exam was good and his blood work was good & had a fecal test which was negative for parasites. His neuter is scheduled for March 6th.

2/22/23-Panini had his pre neuter physical exam & bloodwork today & he was very good. We should have the blood work results sometime tomorrow.  His neuter is scheduled for Monday 3/6 & he will be able to go home after. More updates soon from his foster home!

2/16/23-Oh he is the sweetest boy! Panini ADORES my husband, he does front feet tippy taps of joy and giant whole body waggles when he sees him. His coat is more similar to a lab than poodle, he’s like a thick coated wavy haired lab and DOES shed.  He’s also a very big puppy & still growing, so most likely will be closer to 85 lbs full grown. Panini is very soft mouthed and loves to chase balls and other thrown toys. He comes back but hasn’t figured out giving the toy back yet. He’s doing great with the kids (7 & 12 years old),  likes our Boxer and is giving appropriate space to our grumpy older dog. So far he doesn’t seem to mind being crated, but it takes a thrown treat for him to willingly go in it. He’s fine once he’s in there. Leash walking is going to take a while before he’s comfortable with it, we are practicing every time he goes out. Stairs are quite nerve-wracking, he’s only been here not even a day so we will get there!

2/15/23-Panini is a big sweet 9 month old standard labradoodle (standard poodle/Labrador retriever). He was saved from a puppy mill as he just got too old to sell. He arrived safely into our rescue tonight thanks his transport volunteers. He has his pre neuter appointment next Wednesday 2/22 & then we will schedule his neuter as soon as possible. Once Panini is neutered & we get to know him better then he will be able to be matched to his new home.  More updates from his foster home soon!
