3/11/23-We really got lucky with Shelby! She is doing great on potty training, gets along so well with our dogs, and our kids adore her. She greets everyone with a “submissive smile” that makes us laugh every time we see it (see photo). It reminds me when I ask my children to smile “naturally” for a photo. LOL She is quiet, calm, and loves to be pet. Do watch your food though as Shelby is still learning not to take food off the counters and table. She’s quick! We are so excited for her forever family! They are getting a wonderful, loving dog!
3/7/23-We took Shelby on a 4 mile hike the other day and caught this pretty picture of her in the wind. This is what freedom from the mill feels like!
3/01/23-Shelby unfortunately is in heat so our vet won’t spay her for a few weeks to be safer for her. We plan to get her spayed around 3/20. After that she will be able to go to her new home! Her foster mom will update more soon.
2/26/23-Shelby arrived at her foster home yesterday. We have really enjoyed having her in the house so far. She is getting along really well with our two dogs and four children (ages 6-12). She is very sweet, calm, and unfazed by the chaos of the house. She loves to cuddle with the children and follows us around the house. She will make a great family dog! She will need to be spayed & then she will be ready to be matched to her new home.
2/22/23-Shelby is a sweet 6 month old black tri color female. We were originally told we were getting a mini aussiedoodle but she looks like a mini aussie (miniature Australian shepherd). She was saved from being killed by a puppy mill as she just got too old to sell. She arrived safely into rescue today thanks to her transport volunteers & overnight hold. More updates from her foster home soon.
