10/11/21-Oreo is doing great after being here just over a week in her foster home. She arrived here, had a bath so is now smelling fresh. She had an eye infection, so I took her to my vet and she is doing well with the medication he prescribed.
She has become a good dog and is fitting into my family routine well. Right now she still shows some of her past puppy mill trauma & is a little hand shy as she flinches whenever anyone attempts to touch her face.  I’m sure with time she will learn no one is going to hurt her & she will only be loved.  She is picky about her food, even though it’s labeled just for Bulldogs. Oreo and I have bonded in a unique way, as she is now constantly with me 24 hours a day.  As I am retired, I have the ability to be with her and I can tell that she loves this type of attention. Don’t miss out of this great girl!

10/2/21-Unfortunately after 3 months in her new home, Oreo is back today looking for her new home. Even though she was great with the kitten in her foster home she just would not accept living with the cat in her new home.   When it became too dangerous for their cat they had to return her to rescue. For this reason Oreo will now need a home without kitties.
They did say Oreo hasn’t met a person she doesn’t like yet – she adores people. Oreo also became fast friends with a dog that used to live in the neighborhood.  They also have found she is friendly with large dogs, like labs. Her foster Mom had said no little dogs though for Oreo. She is still fearful of trucks and other loud noises but getting better since her puppy mill days have been over. More updates soon from her new foster Mom.

6/26/21-Oreo was adopted!

6/6/21-Another week in foster care for Oreo! She has evolved so much already from a scared puppy mill throw away to a fun loving family dog. Oreo has been learning that life outside the mill is ok. She has gained confidence and loves spending time with the family and other animals in the home, as long as they don’t get too rambunctious! Oreo does seam to get upset with alot of commotion and would most likely do best with a calm dog her size or larger or in an only dog home. No small dogs for her! She is friendly with the resident kitten.

She has been gaining weight well and getting better with all of the outside noises in the city.
Oreo continues to soak up all the attention she can get from any person who will give it to her! Hopefully she will fine her perfect family soon and get spoiled like she never has before!

5/28/21-Oreo has been in her foster home for about 2 weeks now. She has had time to settle in and has been enjoying all of the attention. She loves every person she meets! So much so that she has been learning the off command! Oreo is a smart dog and is catching on quickly to what is expected of her. She is still transitioning to her new life outside the mill so she looks to her humans for comfort. In addition to off, she has also learned sit, no, and leave it, all in 2 weeks time! She responds well to human voice and just wants to please her humans. She is definitely not skittish at touch & not hand shy at all. I think she would be ok with kids 4 and older.

Oreo has a new kitten foster sister and has been very respectful with her. They have even been drinking from the same bowl! Unfortunately she doesn’t want to share her space or attention with other dogs though so she will need to be the only dog.

Oreo tends to get nervous with excitable dogs and loud noises. We are working on both of these things and also potty training, but she does very well in her crate. Oreo really needs a home of her own to thrive in. She just wants to be loved and has so much love to give in return. Can you make her your best friend?

5/16/21 Oreo the English bulldog mix.

Oreo is the sweetest thing! Just like the cookie, you will be hooked! Oreo is a puppy mill rescue. We were not told besides English bulldog what she was mixed with so she may be half beagle, puggle or Boston terrier as those are English bulldog mixes we get from the puppy mills. She adores people and soaks up all the attention. When she looks at you with those little toofers sticking out your heart may skip a beat!

Oreo seems much more comfortable in a home than most puppy mill dogs. She has settled right in to her foster home. She is a bit underweight and has recently had pups. We will fatten her up in no time I’m sure, since this girl likes to eat!  Oreo is already enjoying her easy street life outside of the puppy mill. She just needs a permanent home with people to spoil her like the princess she is.
