04/05/23-Patty is doing well in her foster home and continues to grow. Her vet was able to move up her appointment so she was spayed this past Friday and all went well & she weighs 16 lbs. Patty has been walking a little stiff so we had that checked out. The vet has concluded that poor Patty has deformed muscles and joints from being kept in a small cage her whole life. They put her on some anti inflammatory drugs to see if she gets some improvement. This does not slow Patty down! She still runs and plays and gets along fine. She just has a slight wobble to her walk. No treatment is necessary for her, just some love! We also think some regular walking or playing/activity will help build up her muscle tone & strength. Patty is still learning potty training. She was literally raised in a barn so she is actually doing well with it considering that. As long as she is taken out at regular times she is ok but has an accident if you forget about her.
Patty has become a foster favorite due to her snuggly nature! She is a true lap dog. While she likes to roam the house and play with toys, she also loves her snuggles. So if you are looking for a movie night buddy she is your gal! She likes to follow me around while doing chores and will stop me now and then to get pets or beg to be picked up. She really is the sweetest thing!
Patty has been doing ok with the cat as well. She will bark at the cat but when out of her kennel she does nothing. The cat will try to play with her but Patty is scared and runs. This foster kitty is dog savy and rarely runs from a dog. So Patty may be ok with a dog savy cat.
Pattys younger sister who was in the foster home was adopted yesterday so we are really hoping she finds her forever soon. She really deserves the best life after all she has been through!

3/29/23-Great news, the vet’s office was able to move Kelly & Patty’s spays up to this Friday 3/31! They are now ready to be matched to their new homes & can go home next week. Don’t miss out on these great girls!

03/28/23-Patty is a sweetheart! The way she looks into your eyes will melt your heart. She has so much love to give and all she asks for in return is a lap to sit in… and treats. This girl loves her snacks. If allowed, she would snuggle on the couch all day! She also likes a good run around the yard though! She has recently been doing better with the cat and I believe it was Kelly (her younger sister/cousin from another litter) who was initiating the kitty bullying. Patty will bark at the cat from her kennel but once confronted with the cat does nothing. So it is possible that a dog savvy cat would be ok.
Potty training is going well and she has no accidents in her kennel when left for periods of time. Patty can’t wait to find her new family to snuggle with!

03/21/23-Patty is living the best life in her foster home! Since getting rescued about 10 days ago, she has learned how to walk on shiny floors,  go up and down stairs and getting used to all the new sounds of a warm home. She loves toys and snuggles! Being only 2, she has plenty of spunk, but then will snuggle on the couch for as long as she can! She has turned into quite the lap dog already! She is so sweet and loving. Potty training is still in progress but getting better. Being raised in a barn in a small cage with hay she did not have the routine of going outside but it will come soon.  She is getting more used to being on leash also.
Patty would love a loving  family and a warm lap to sit in! She will be ready after she gets spayed on a couple weeks. Apply now!

03/13/23-Please meet Patty! 🍀 Patty is a 2 year old puggle (pug/beagle) who came in yesterday with Kelly from an over crowded breeder. She is a bit shy right now but is already warming up after 24 hours in foster care. She loves being able to snuggle up with her buddy Kelly but also is ok playing by herself. She is a bit thin so we will be feeding her well! She was raised in a barn so all the new sights in a home are new and a bit scary to her. So far Patty is a good house guest and exploring her new world.
We will provide updates as we get to know her better. The vet was backed up so she has a spay & checkup & shots appointment April 11th.  If all goes well then she will be ready for her new home after that!

3/24/23-Devin is an adorable 18 week old black tri color male mini aussie (miniature Australian shepherd). He & his 2 brothers were saved from being killed by a puppy mill as they just got too old to sell. Devin is the baby brother at only 20 lbs & has a tiny white stripe on his nose. They arrived safely into rescue today thanks to their transport volunteers & overnight hold. More updates from his foster home soon.
