06/01/21-Ollie is an absolute sweetheart. I don’t know how anyone can resist the “boxer wiggle”. He is a very high energy puppy and loves to play all the time. He shares his toys well with the resident male boxer. They play all day but when it is time to settle down at night they both find their spots on the couch and proceed to sleep all night. But when the sun comes up they are right back at play.
Ollie is crate trained, but we haven’t needed to use it other than the first night he was with us. He settled into the routine with no problems.
Ollie was neutered last week and you would never have known it. It didn’t slow him down at all. We are working on the leash training. He is a very smart boy, but sometimes holding his attention is hard. He is a big boy and is still trying to figure out his growing body so he is a little clumsy. He is so excited to see you that he sometimes forgets to stop before running into you. Ollie is ready to go home now!
5/24/21-Ollie came to me yesterday. He is an owner surrender that lived with a 6 year old child which he was good with, but is jumpy at times. His owners’ schedules changed with schooling/activities & their work schedules so they said he needed a home with more time required for him to live a life he deserves.
Ollie is a typical boxer baby with boundless energy. He is still growing into his body so he is not aware of how strong he is. He is playing well with the resident male 2 yr old boxer but sometimes doesn’t want to share food or toys. This may all be because of the new surroundings.
Walking on a leash is a power struggle right now, but we will work on that also.
He will be neutered soon & I will update more as we get to know each other better.
