5/7/23-Bugsy is doing ok with his new heavy duty crate. He’s no longer able to destroy his crate to escape but I watch him on my wireless camera and he is frequently barking while crated. He is great with my dog but he does always try to get all the attention. Bugsy does not get aggressive with her, he simply slips in front of her. I think he would be fine with another dog or two as long as they are tolerant of him being an attention hog & they are not the overly jealous type.  Bugsy does like to pull things off the counter so you have to be careful if your eyes are not on him. If it is a food item it is fair game. Yesterday it was a partial bag of chips! LOL He still has the occasional accident in the house. I put a harness on him and walked with him & he lets me take the lead without pulling. I will miss him when he goes to his furever home.

4/26/23-Bugsy has been with me for two weeks. He is a character. In typical boxer style he is a velcro dog – loves to be pet and hugged. He goes into his crate easily but does not like being in for any length of time. If the plan is to crate him you will need a heavy duty crate because he is Houdini. Bugsy is beginning to notice toys and will play with them for a bit. He sleeps in my room next to my bed and quietly rests all night. He is learning house manners but has the occasional accident. He has not realized he needs to let me know when he needs to go out but willingly goes out and does his business. He is totally a sweetheart!

4/09/23-Thank you to all who made the trip for Bugsy possible. He arrived yesterday and took a little coaxing to get him out of the car. Once I got him home he was greeted by my girl, Caylee. They gave each other a sniff without any issues. Bugsy is not yet used to his crate so that will be a work in progress. I will be feeding him in the crate to make it a positive experience. He is very skinny, so extra meals are in his future. He has decided sitting  with me in the recliner is the best place to be. Last night he slept next to the bed, quietly curled up in a dog bed. He has eaten well without any issue.  Today he has been wagging his stub so I guess he is comfortable.

4/05/23-Bugsy is a handsome 2 year old male boxer from a puppy mill. He came in today along with 2 other boxers as the owners are moving out of state soon. He arrived safely into rescue thanks to his transport & hold volunteers. He is super skinny & his pictures don’t show how bad he is. One of the other boxers from this mill had worms so we’re sure once he gets his wormer at his foster home this week it will help. His pre-neuter appointment is on Wednesday 4/19 & due to vet backups his neuter is not until Tuesday 5/16.  Once he is neutered he will be ready to go home.
