4/27/23-Juni did great great with her spay yesterday!  Was very sleepy when she came home, and still pretty sleepy today. I carried her downstairs to take her outside and as soon as she came back inside she went right back upstairs to bed.  Her left eye looked like it had an issue & the first vet that cleared her to come to rescue said she had a possible previous rupture. She also walks a little funny so we wanted the vet spaying her to look at both. The vet didn’t do X-rays or anything but he did look her over and said she definitely suffered a pelvis fracture that wasn’t healed properly and she has scars that he suspects came from abuse along with the eye rupture. Poor baby girl! He also said he didn’t see any evidence of her ever having puppies so it’s great we got her out when we did! But aside from all of that she is so great! And the absolute sweetest! And she doesn’t seem to be in any pain for now.  Juni is ready to find her new family where she will never be abused again!

4/26/23-Juni is literally the sweetest dog ever! She’s tiny, and so adorable and loves everyone! We have kids 4, 8 and 16 which she is excellent with. She LOVES to play with all four of Nick’s boxers (three boys and a girl). We have a stray cat that comes around from time to time that I let sleep in the house and she’ll chase the cat. Not in an aggressive I want to eat you way but in a what the heck are you let’s play! way LOL She sleeps in bed with us or in one of the dog beds snuggled with other dogs and goes all night without an accident. She will have accidents still during the day but we’re working on it. She does want to chew things so that’s something we’re also working on. Because of these two things, if we have to leave her alone she stays in a crate and does fine in it. However she will chew and destroy any dog bed/blanket or whatever that is in there with her so maybe she has a little anxiety with the crate. She’s also working on her skills and her manners. She’s a jumper (but it’s also super cute and sweet because she jumps because she’s excited and it’s the cutest). We’re just working on the basics, just like if she were a puppy….
But she has learned what toys are about. It’s actually adorable and sweet…she watches the other dogs and mimics what they do. She was unsure of the squeakers at first and didn’t much care about and of the toys but now she waits to see what they play with and what they do with it and then she’ll go back later and grab the same toy and play with it the same way! LOL

4/21/23-Juni (aka: Juniper) is a gorgeous 2 year old reverse brindle female boxer from a puppy mill. She came in today along with 2 other boxers as the owners are moving out of state soon. We had already received 3 other boxers from this mill. She arrived safely into rescue thanks to her transport volunteers. She see our vet on Wednesday 4/26 for her spay. At that time we will get her left eye & legs checked out too as has some issues we want to address. More updates soon!
