(Since I’m a baby I need home with someone home more often. Ex: work at home, retired, at home parent, work opposite, etc)

8/31/23-Wonton is doing well at his foster home! He is the sweetest happiest little pup. Wonton is pretty much housebroken now, rarely an accident and knows to potty as soon as he is let out. He loves being outside in the fenced yard. Once he does his business it’s time to play then sunbathe! Getting used to a leash is a work in progress he gets very nervous. If his new home doesn’t have a physical fence I would expect some difficulty with housebreaking as it will take some work to get him to do his business on a leash. He is quiet in his crate and keeps his crate clean.

Wonton had his pre neuter vet visit yesterday and is scheduled for his neuter 9/13 which honestly can’t come soon enough. He is exhibiting some mounting behavior with the other dogs. Especially one of my male bulldogs and on occasion Wonton does want the other dogs around his “best friend”. Although he is great with other dogs besides this issue it is concerning he could end up being a bully/dominant with other dogs as us somewhat common with Frenchies. For that reason we do think that Wonton might be best as an only dog or with someone with bulldog experience to stay on top of things. There is also a good possibility that neutering will change everything but of course we can’t know that for certain.

He belly issues are doing well with the limited Ingredient dog food. It will take awhile for stool to become solid but the diarrhea has resolved and now he has soft stool. It will take his system some time to get back on track.
Wonton had adjusted to our schedule very well. He loves to grab a toy and bring it outside with him. He also knows there is always a toy in my boxers crate near the door so he runs in grabs it and heads outside. He is the funniest little dog. He will be ready for a family of his own very soon! After his neuter on Wednesday 9/13 he can go home that weekend.

8/17/23-Welcome Wonton! The sweetest, happiest little Frenchie boy ever! Wonton arrived last night, waltzed right in and acted like he had know the resident dogs forever. He is currently living with 2 English Bulldogs and a Boxer puppy and is loving having playmates! Wonton was originally purchased from a puppy mill at 8 weeks old then returned just a short time ago for having diarrhea. Can you even imagine? So we’ve started him on a good limited ingredient dog food and some meds and hopefully he’s feeling better soon. We don’t know at this point if it was the food he’s been eating, things he was eating in his environment or irritable bowel syndrome which is somewhat common with frenchies. Will update more about that as we get to know him. Wonton has had a great first day here. He had a bath and was very good about getting scrubbed down and rinsed 3x before the water ran clean. He’s eating well and loves running and playing in the fenced yard. We frequently find him rolling around in the grass. He’s good at keeping himself occupied with toys if he is not playing with one of the other dogs. This boy is an absolute GEM!! Due to vet backups his pre-neuter checkup isn’t until Thursday 8/31 & then we can get his neuter scheduled for asap after that. Once he is neutered he will be ready to go home. More updates coming soon!
